  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

It is foolish to think humans can survive without God from a spiritual standpoint. Us without God would be like trying to find your way out of the woods without any knowledge of survival skills and equipment. I see it in todays world people who believe they dont need God sometimes turn to a life of immorality turn to crime, drugs, gambling, bad habbiats etc etc. I believe this whole world is under satans rule; does anybody remember when satan tempted Jesus? he offered him all the power and kingdoms in this world and jesus denied. Look at some of the things that are occuring daily in our world? does that reflect a loving God?

God did not create people as sinful creatures; He created the first people, Adam and Eve, as completely pure and sinless. Even so, they had free will, so they were capable of sinning and they ultimately did.
Except that the whole story of Adam and Eve is a parable, not a historical volume.

No, their story was not a parable. God's word said that this was how man and woman were created, and that is how they were created. God does not lie. "Song of songs" was a parable, but the story of Adam and Eve was definitely not one.

If you take that view, where does it end? The whole of Genesis? Exodus? The Old Testament?

The whole Bible is full of stories that seem impossible to us, but that's God, he can do the impossible. After all, he created everything from the little ants to the stars and galaxies.

Be careful not to put limits on God.

He didn't create us to be evil, we chose to follow it. Evil formed when Lucifer was thrown from Heaven, and has been here ever since. Eve listened to the snake that Satan possessed, and Adam then listened to Eve. We were originally truly pure beings before that. But we chose to disobey, so we have to live and die in sin until Jesus comes back and speeds up the ending of this world. Yes, many people are going to Hell, but creation doesn't have to stop there. More and more purity and beauty can arise once evil has been completely confined.

Think of it like flowers constrained by weeds and vines. Once the weeds and vines have been cut off and prevented from growing again, the flower can blossom just like it was originally meant to.

Because so many people are atheists, and refuse to believe that God exists, they are blind to the fact that a gun is pointed at their heads but it is indeed there.

Also, there are those who follow false religions who are also unaware they have a gun pointed at their heads, but because they were raised in a Muslim or Buddhist family they were effectively brainwashed to believe that religion as the one and only true religion, so God eventually pulls the trigger on these people for living in ignorance, when it is not their fault. If God showed them a sign and led them to Him and His son, a sign saying, "follow me and give up your false religion" Then God would be just in sending these people to hell if they refuse. I refuse to think that God is just, because when you are born in Japan or China, all you know is those Asian religions, it's not your fault, and your soul is already on the road to destruction just by being born into a family with a false religion because of brainwashing. Does God show each individual a sign in such circumstances that they will not miss? It's not their fault if they didn't understand the sign, or somehow missed it. I believe also in the predestination theory. That's not fair or just.

I guess my argument above was invalid, we do have free will, but not without consequences.

Ok, that last sentence is key. Jesus says by your own words you shall be judged. You have said that you refuse to believe that God is just. You also asked why explodingboy was on here if he was an atheist. If do not believe that God is just, then the only difference between you and explodingboy is his profile tells the truth (atheist). Because, the just shall live by faith. If faith denotes anything, it denotes the trustworthiness of the one so believed in. If you do not know God to be trustworthy, then you have yet to be born of the Spirit of God. This is not to condemn you, but to warn you. Repent, because the kingdom of God is near to you. I can’t condemn you. I have yet to be born of the spirit of God also. But I’m on my way.

Consequences don’t detract from the justice of God, but they confirm that he is just. If he were unjust there would be no consequences. And don’t be foolish, as well as the terrible consequences of hell, there are marvelous consequences of the Kingdom, and of life in the Spirit of God now.
Furthermore, if God is not just, then he is certainly not merciful. And if he is not merciful, then we are damned. But because we know he is just, we are able to know his mercy. Therefore there is hope for those who repent, believe, are baptized, and receive the filling of the Spirit of God.

I suggest you learn and understand your Bible a little more than you do if you believe that. There is much ignorance in your comment.

There has been much historical proof researched over thousands of years to uncover some of this by theologists. Much of it has to do with the styles of writing during the time to how intelligent the person was who was writing the book (look at the 4 gospels for a great example of this).

There is no limits being placed, simply facts. You also cannot take what you read at face value a lot of the time without understanding the purpose.

So you're saying that you believe God didn't know every detail about every persons life long before he created them?

Knowing what we believe he knows, how did he not create people to be evil? He knew every detail of every persons life even before their mothers mother was born. Thus, he knows people are evil before even creating them.

He knew, but that didn't stop Him from creating us. He created us to be pure beings with a free will. He also knew we would sin and fall into evil, but He also knows the glorious future that will await those who repent and follow the path of truth. Saying God created man to be evil is like saying the sun's luminescence was made to create shadows, not light. Shadows are a byproduct, but light is the true purpose.

In any case, the mind of God is truly complex and infinite. I don't believe that he created evil, and an argument can be made that since He knows all and He created us, then He knew this would result in evil, thus creating it. Creating something for a specific purpose is different then having something result as a byproduct. Do we create cars in order to pollute the atmosphere? No, we create cars for transportation. It's a similar situation. I am sure there is much more to it than that, but we'll all find that out when the truth is revealed.
