  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Here MacArthur talks about the NASB and the Legacy Standard Bible. Go about 7 min 20 sec in on the video to hear about the LSB, just FYI.

Thanks. That's great to know. I've always wanted to know what the most reliable translation was and if JMc says it is then that's a pretty good endorsement.
I'll keep an eye out for that new Bible.

Thompson Chain is good but if you like the KJV the Westminster has more chains and no articles at the back to contend with making it lighter. The Trinitarian Bible Society (TBS) sells them. Their Bibles are printed by Cambridge and the profits go to producing free Bibles. I use the TBS (Cambridge) Concord KJV, Westminster and the Reformation Study Bible NKJV.

Yours in the Lord,

jm
Some of the Thomson chain editions seem to have rather small print in the notes, which can pose difficulties.

Thanks JM.
I have small phases of reading the KJV to try to get used to it but I still struggle with it and go back to NLT, NET or NKJV.
I do love the King James which I feel is well worth the effort and perseverance; it's so tested and time honoured and its translators made a real effort to be precise, unlike some of the more paraphrastic modern versions.

I've tried other translation but always return to the KJV.
