Best Study Bible

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I am looking for a study bible. I need one that will help me understand the verses. Sometime when I read the word, I get lost in the meaning. The Zondervan NIV study bible seems to be close to what I am looking for, but I was hoping to get some input. I would link to it on barnes and noble but I need 50 post to do that.

Zondervan has several good study Bibles
The Ryrie Study Bible is also very good.

Be careful not to rely too heavily on the notes in the Bible.
I ask God to reveal the meaning to me.
It takes me longer this way, but it sticks

Your probably right, I am just being lazy and wanting someone to tell me what the verses mean. As oppose to spending more time and learning what they mean.

I have the NIV Study Bible and really like it.

I personally use a Scofield Study Bible. I've found that the program, E-Sword is a useful tool as well.

I have been using the LIFE APPLICATION Study Bible-NLT by Tyndale..

It is clear and consise, and the footnotes help me to really understand
what I am reading. Have been using it for several years now and
my Knowledge of the Bible has increased tremendously..

I like the NRSV Renovare Spiritual Formation Bible.

I have the NIV Study Bible and really like it.

I've been shopping for a study bible too. I was first looking at the NIV Study Bible and the The Life Application Study Bible. Both seem to have excellent attributes. But then I read a comment about the Quest Study Bible, and how this is better for beginners. I'm a beginner, and when I read some sample pages, I realized it's the one I'm favoring now. I just have to see if I can find some clip-on magnifying glasses to I can read the small type.

BTW, someone else mentioned e-sword software. I've found it extremely helpful, because it clears up the meaning of verses I have trouble with.

I used to give Quest Study Bibles (NIV) to prisoners in jail. They answered the questions the new believers would come up and it was a paperback -- required for jail. Then Zondervan revised it into a more expensive hardback-only version. So much for that.

I used the Ryrie Study Bible by Moody Bible Institute occasionally. It is good.

I used the Nelson Study Bible by Thomas Nelson Publishers occasionally. It is good.

The church I go to uses the Life Application Study Bible by Tyndale House & Zondervan. They are medium mature and it meets their needs well.

I use an unannotated NKJV Bible with an exhaustive concordance and Lexicons these days. When I started out as a Christian I cynically decided to see what the Bible had to say for itself without any denominational biases implicit in commentaries. When I received the Holy Spirit He led me into a lot of my understanding of the Bible -- very close to conservative.
