Best Soundtrack

Which Game do you think has the best soundtrack. My favourite is Total Annihilation's soundtrack, followed closely by Warcraft III's (even though I dislike the game).

TA's soundtrack is very good, and the classic SMB theme is very popular.

I have to agree that GTA soundtrack is excellent. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time has a great soundtrack as well. Always liked the Resident Evil mood music too.

Little Big Adventure 1 + 2 have excellent music - I'd listen to that music outside the game on my CD player (in fact, have done so). Alpha Centauri's music was groundbreaking (and I've never seen something do what it did quite in the same way). It had snatches of music which it put together over events in the game, so the music was never quite the same. Very atmospheric, very fitting with the game.

I'm gonna call it a tie between Chrono Cross and The Legend Of Zelda Ocarina of Time. Soul Calibur for the Dreamcast, isn't far behind. I always thought that Castlevania IV for the SNES had an awesome soundtrack.

Anyway, I listen to good old Gospel. But then Halo came along and I got to hear Marty's beautiful Classical music and I feel in love. There are some tracks that I'm worried about, but I just skip past those.

Medal of Honor Frontline or Allied Assault has a great soundtrack performed by an orchestra and choir. Very good stuff which does a great job setting the mood for the dfifferent levels.

What is your point? Isn't GTA a game with a soundtrack? (This is in the gaming forum if I'm not mistaken) And from what I've heard a rather exceptional one at that?

Any of the Final Fantasy soundtracks are easily some of greatest. Xenogears and Xenosaga as well and many others. Some I can remember are Wild ARMs 1 & 2, Suikoden III, Metal Gear Solid 2 among others.

Metal Gear Solid has a great soundtrack. Another thread got me thinking about this game recently, and I went back and played through it again over the weekend. The video of the Alaskan nature scenes with the Celtic music that plays during the closing credit roll is amazing.

The Mrs. and I really enjoyed the soundtrack to Diablo II. We don't play it anymore, in fact, we don't really play any pc games much nowadays. Too many other things to do, but the soundtrack to Diablo II was extremely good.
