CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
How did you get the thumbnails in your post? I have looked and looked and can't figure out how to to do that.

Hey Rick,
Is that rain in the first pic? Where were you when you took that? It looks like you must have been really far out to sea. And I like the picture of the shaft of light coming across the mountains into the darkened town.
I'm still pretty new, but here are a couple that I like. One is a portrait of a friend of mine, the other is a little bud that first popped up a couple weeks ago marking spring, and the last is a statue that I took last night (and posted somewhere else I think
)

Those are some pretty good shots! How long have you been taking pictures?
I love the reflection in the water in the last one. You could take a picture without the man and still have a fine looking photo there.

I've been taking pictures for four months, but I enrolled in a photography class at a local college and I've got a digital camera so I can blaze through a couple hundred shots at a time if I want
I've actually shot the cityscape picture quite a few times at different times of the night, with different foregrounds, and I'm trying to figure out what works. I can't tell if the picture looks like the statue has buildings growing out of his hips or not, nor where the city "should" be. I'm just not objective or skilled enough yet. Do you think it would be a better picture without the statue?

hey those were all very good shots. nice. i took the water ones with my digital camera when i was surfing ( its water proof ) . this is a fun thread. everyone post more! ok heres a few more of mine....
