  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

hehe... I'm sure there are many of you out there who want to brag...
So here's your chance. Who here has the best pc ;)

Of course, modding is taken into consideration... performance.... hardware, etc.

Granted, there simply is no way to declare a winner. Everyone has their preference (ie: AMD vs. Intel, DDR vs. Rambus, DVD+RW vs. DVD-RW, etc.) and who's standard do we use for performance (not to mention that sometimes the ratings the performance software spits out can be flawed or misconstrued).

Anywho... here's your chance to brag. What's in your pc?

I think either of mine can hang with most. Granted, there could be better out there. Considering my work paid for both systems, I will not complain.

Work = Micron PC Pentium IV 2.8ghz w/HT, 1GB DDR400 SDRAM, 80GB 7200 Hard Drive
(Network back up of 1 Terrabyte), 128MB DDR nVidia GeForceFX5200 Video, 19" LCD monitor, Cambrige Soundworks surround system, Logitech wireless keyboard and Marble Mouse. Win XP Pro & Linux Redhat Pro (option at boot).

Home = Mac PowerMac Dual G5 1.8ghz, 1GB DDR400 SDRAM, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro video card, 160GB Hard Drive, MacOSX Panther, 17" LCD, a few other extras.

my pc is a bitsa (just bits n pieces) its functional, and works. lol
p4 2.4b, 320mb sd-ram (my computer supports sd and ddr, im just too cheap to buy ddr.. :p), 32mb tnt2 video card, 40gb hdd, a purple cdrom drive, a lame cd burner (which the laser has had it), onboard 5.1 sound and nic, umm yeah as you can see its just a cheap system to do what i need to do.. i should upgrade soon though (after i get my new ps2)

id rather spend my money on something more worth while, like a house. (or a home entertainment system.. :p)

offtopic* but how can anyone like halo on pc?!? i found it overwhelmingly bad (even on a top-end gaming pc), nothing compared to the xbox version.. i sure hope they dont port halo 2 onto pc.

Well, that's tough to beat... but if I show you pictures of my Xerox 820-II system (which will be working as soon as I replace two ICs) can we call it a draw?
BTW nice username.

I forgot to mention my working Macintosh SE (two 800 KB floppy drives, 1 MB RAM, external 30 MB hard drive).

Try this: Dual 2.8ghz Xeon P4's, 4 gig's 1600mhz RdRam, ATI Radeon x800 XT, 1.5 Terrabytes (that's 1,500 gigs) of 15k Fibre Channel (fiber optic) hard drive space, and a 21" viesonic flatscreen... of course, its all homebuilt with a phat modded case and water cooled ;)

I think I'm going to finally bump going dual xeon's once the p5 hits (well, I know its not technically qualified as p5) and go with dual video cards. I've had dual xeons for sooo long. Funny thing is, I never really saw much of a performance difference between 2 and 4 processors (at least with gaming), so I've always stuck with 2.
