That's a big can of worms, and it all depends on what software you want to run, how many monitors at once, which operating system you run, etc.
Yup
Btw, In my other computer, I had AMD which was made by ATI.

Just wondering, how much RAM do you have?

8 and 12 is really good. I bet it runs fast.
Branded PC's are all a sad overpriced mess mainly. Always built my own (not everyone can i know) computers so I can get the best bang for my dollar. No matter what path you take just make sure its what you want for you needs - no point buying a machine with an expensive graphics card when all you do is email and web browse.
I've got a bunch of systems from Dell and they all run very well.
If I ever buy pre-built computers, I get them from Dell and I can't see that changing.

The last computer has an AMD processor and AMD graphics card made by ATI. The replacement computer has an Intel processor and a NVIDIA graphics card.
The last time I bought the computer I debated over AMD and Intel processor and AMD graphics card and NVIDIA graphics card. I don't know I guess I will see for myself now which I like better. It just all depends on the set up and specific card etc. etc. etc.
In the past 3 years I've bought a new HP laptop and new Lenovo desktop (both Intel) and they've both worked very well, no problems at all...one was a Win 7 and other Win 8, impressed with both (as I type this from an 8 year old macintosh)
I realize this is a very very general question considering each computer has varying specs but I'm interested in knowing people's opinions regarding PC brand name computers. What PC brand name computers do you think are the best? Do you like HP, Dell, Asus... Which company do you think is sticking with good technology and also good customer service?
HP computers are ok but their tech support is generally terrible with a few rare instances. Lots of transfers, long hold times, people who don't speak English clearly, reps who can't deviate from scripts... and that's calling the support line for resellers.
I like Dell computers and their support has generally been pretty good. I've had customer service work with me even though they knew the computer's warranty had expired just because the rep thought the problem was interesting. Since I'm in IT, they will sometimes skip the troubleshooting and just provide replacement parts when I tell them what I've already done.
I'm also a fan of Lenovo. A bit expensive sometimes but their support is pretty good and I dig the southern accents on the few occasions I had to call (their center is located in Georgia). I've been using a Lenovo laptop for the last 4 years and never really had a problem with it

Do you mind me asking which of the following processors and cards you prefer? Again, I know this is a rather general question but I'm still interested in your thoughts. Well this question is for anybody who wants to answer it Please do so.![]()
