  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

All three of these tied:

Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

And yes, I believe them to be completely foreign to the US of A.

Now I'll have to see Amelie.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is my favorite. The end is just too good, its up to you to believe in hard reality or the legend...

Wow! You know good movies, your list is a near carbon copy of what I was going to post going into this thread. Kurosawa can do no wrong in my eyes, and you can't forget about The Hidden Fortress. And I adore Bergman, I need to save up to get the dvd boxset that was rereleased a few weeks back. On the initial released I had the money but it was recalled due to some misframing of 2 of the films so I held off, now I'm broke.:(

Some of my favorites are:
Abre Los Ojos-Open Your Eyes. This is the film that Vanilla Sky was based off of. The director, Alejandro Amenabar, also did Tesis-Thesis which is brillaint. He's best known for The Others.

Talk to Her is a great film too. I believe you can pick that one up at Best Buy for 12.99 now, everyone who likes a good film should check that one out.

Malena
Life Is Beautiful
Irreversible
Kairo-Pulse
Dogville-If you want to count that one.

WOGBOY!!!!!
When did the Wogboy reach the US?

I remember seeing a really funny Japanese movie a few years ago called Sumo Do, Sumo Don't, all about sumo wrestling and the thinner variations on the theme. It was one of the most hilarious movies I have ever seen.

since i'm australian, do hollywood movies count as foreign? :p

if not, i haven't seen any "foreign" movies lol...

No, they don't. Mel Gibson, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe - these are all Australian actors in Hollywood. So how can Hollywood be 'foreign' to Australians? Hollywood also speaks the same language as Australians.
