Also, if you can, get a copy of Catholic Christianity by Peter Kreeft. It's a book that's based directly on the Bible and the Catechism with footnotes, so it's very informative as to what Catholics believe but it's more straightforward and not as confusing as the Catechism. We used it as the textbook for my RCIA class and it was great.
I like Catholicism and Fundamentalism and Rome Sweet Home as well. I haven't read Catholic Christianity, but I have read Fundaments Of The Faith by Peter Kreeft and I think that is very good. In fact I was reading some of it again today.
