Best bad guy?

So who's the best bad to ever appear in an anime. You can judge this from many points of view like: the coolest bad guy, the most convincing bad guy (one that you love to hate), the most cruel bad guy, anything that comes to mind really.

Hmm, I'd have to say Knives from Trigun was pretty despicable (and his main henchman). Umm, I don't know if the Dynasty Warriors game series (its on PS2) really counts as anime, but the character Zang He. I will have to say Zang He is definately the "weirdest" bad guy because he is the *ahem* fruitiest bad guy I have ever seen.

Hmm...I don't really have a single favorite bad guy. But one of my favorites was Delphine from Last Exile. She was extremely aristocratic and she was sadistic.

I also liked Celestine from the Ah! My Goddess movie. He was a sypathetic bad guy because he was trying to help humanity, but he was being so heavy handed in his method it ended up being harmful instead.

I'm going blank right now on the really cool villains, but I'd say either Fuuma from X/1999, or (and I know this isn't "anime" per ce) Sephiroth from FF7.

Hmmmm,

Aoshi is really cool (from Rurouni Kenshin). It's hard to classify him clearly as a "bad guy" though.

Sephiroth from FF7 was a really good bad guy.

And Albedo from Xenosage (it's not anime, but oh well)

um, trying to think of a sophisticated bad guy... anyway, they all have amitions.

Hmm, I'd say another one from Trigun, one most people don't think much about, but Midvalley the Hornfreak.

This idea (and my nominating him rather than Legato or Knives, which almost all the other Trigun fans I know think are the worst characters in the series) is from my friends who are into the manga (where Midvalley gets a bit more "screen time" than in the anime), and also from a particular fanfiction I read. I can't link it or mention it here because it's R rated, incredibly dark, serious yaoi, and not something I could recommend here without getting banned.

Kefka from Final Fantasy 6. He's all what and evil and insane man will do. Including the evil laugh.

Strictly anime? Not sure, since I don't watch much. I think it would be Aoshi too.

I would have to say Orochimaru from Naruto. Just the fact that before he left the leaf village when he was doing all the human testing and was just so *calm* about it.

Where in the world did you get that? Besides it's very obvious in pokemon that team rocket isn't gay.

I like the pirates from Outlaw Star, it's a shame they didn't get more screentime. Even the 'regular' pirates that popped in the very first episode were a little unsettling.
