If alcohol is legal it makes no sense than marijuana is not.

^I agree with that statement.

I think it should be legal.

As to who asked if someone gets high and then prays? Me. I feel closer to God when I smoke, I will smoke, look to God for answers, read my Bible and reflect on things. Pray, talk to God and feel spiritually uplifted.

I don't get that sinking feeling of something being "wrong" when I do this in the way that I would with most sinful things, I really feel like God would let me know if this is something I should be removing from my life, and maybe he will in time, it is hard to say.

It just seems silly that it is illegal when it is relatively harmless when you compare it with alcohol, caffiene and the like...seems like a lot of waste of police effort and money, government time and money, wasteful filling up of prisons and useless destruction to peoples lives who in my opinion are not really doing anything that seems like it ought to be cause for such.

Well if that is your assertion then people abusing prescription drugs like oxycodone should be OK.

Opium should be allowed as well on that same thought.

Logic would dictate that all drugs would be then fine and dandy to use for fun.

But who is going to pay for their medical costs when the body breaks down from it?

Is it not bad enough we have to pay for the over eater, the chain smoker and the dipsomaniac?

Do we really want to add to the burden we all pay in higher healthcare costs just for monkeys to get high?

No, unless they pay their own way I don't want them adding to the damage already caused. No man is an island. And when you come to your senses and realise then I will be on your side.

Until then I am not.

You missed the 'minimal risk' part of my post. There is no risk of dependency or overdose with pot, so there is no medical cost associated with it. However, there IS a massive cost to fighting marijuana, prosecuting offenders, and keeping them in prison. Why should I have to pay to fight a drug as benign as pot simply because people like you don't like people entertaining themselves in the wrong way?

...because too many people make too much money off it being illegal. And society says it is wrong, but I find no mention of marijuana being a sin in the bible.(even though I know someone is going to post the sober minded verse again, but if a obese person eats fatty food, that is considered sober minded?)

Yes, I do find addiction wrong, but I think a lot of people have this cloak over their eyes when it comes to addiction. If addiction is wrong, then why is nothing said about obesity? Obesity kills more people in one day than marijuana has in the last 100 years. Is it because obesity is a sensitive subject, even though it is the number 2 killer in the U.S? Sorry to a get a bit off topic, but is social stigma this powerful in this country that we overlook some addictions in the U.S, but others are considered a horrible sin?

Um, we do that for EVERYTHING. Sex acts. Biblical commandments. White collar crimes. Entertainment. Chemicals we put in our bodies. Cleanliness. Medicine. Child raising. Intolerance.

Welcome to America! Home of the idiotically ironic and hypocritical.

Very true, except for the cleanliness. No one likes a stinky person ;)

I feel the main reasons that Christians are against marijuana are that the media/govt have demonized it so big businesses can profit, and that some feel you should be getting high off the Holy Spirit and not a plant.

Really though, I think you can get high off both the Holy Spirit and a plant- they are both from God and completely natural. As a Christian, I feel obligated to find the truth, and the truth is that vaporizing weed is one of the most potent and natural medicinal herb treatments out there. Smoking if you can't get a vaporizer is alright, but it does come with a cancer risk so you have to be careful.
