  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

ya know. this blessed me.
to see you ask this question...and no one reply.

...not because i dont like benny hinn.
i do like benny hinn. i love benny hinn.
but i am so tired and so used to hearing bash him and tear at him
for all the mistakes he has made, and run for the chance at it it seems.

i dont even know the accuracy of all the things that i have heard people claim he has done as evidence that he is not of God.
but i know this
that just becuase hes not perfect, doesnt mean hes not of God.
and just because benny can look back and say "man... i really messed up back there" doesnt mean he isnt of the Lord.

and i am not going to get into the terrible conversations that i have seen come from benny hinn centered subjects with certain kinds of people.

but i beleive i have seen absolute proof that benny hinn is being used by God. i dont beleive hes perfect, but i beleive God has used him by grace.
ive seen more than one person stand and preach something that wasnt biblical, and be totally off in their doctrines, but still be used to bring people to the Lord becuase the OVERALL point of what they were saying was true.
and God used them, becuase its about the PURPOSE OF CHRIST, and not about the PERFECTION OF THE PERSON.

i think the majority and main focus of benny's ministry is faith healing and deliverance, and that is totally in line with the will of God and scripture, even though people might think the scriptures and reasons he has for this if off.
crusades?
i think that is a word people often bring up and mention becuase it has the ability to make him out to look like some kind of nut with a crasy mission.
they say it with sarcasm "yeah you know the crusades...haha"

but i praise God for a man that is willing and courageous enough to boldly cry aloud in the streets and say "i will go where no one has gone...becuase i want to see the lost saved"
crusades for lost? PRAISE GOD FOR THAT!
we need to make some holyghost crusades for the lost!

i personally have never heard benny say anything or seen him do anything that is not biblical.
but even if he did, id like to say and remind anyone who needs it.
that God will use a man, whether he has it all together or not, becuase the workers are few, and hes not about people being strong and perfect, but willing and him being strong in our weakness.
i do not beleive anyone can deny the miracles that take place, and i dont really care what HBO has done and said, they cant take 2 or 3 people who deny the miracles of benny hinn and even testify agaisnt benny, and say that means anything to the thousands and thousands of people who we see everyday proclaiming to be healed and that do testify for that mans ministry.
you show me thousands of people who say benny is fake, and that might hurt benny's ministry, but 3? 4? 10? no way.

his wealth, his taste in clothing, his way of acting.... that really doesnt mean anything.

im just sick of people who make pictures mocking benny, say things mocking benny, and even go as far as verbally attacking him and tearing him down, call him names, speak against him the way a heathen would speak, and claim to do it in the name of the Lord.

no way,
if you think hes wrong, then you pray for that man, and love that man and humble yourself becuase its only grace that makes you right and saved you from the same error, so you have to love him, humble yourself, and pray for him. becuase no matter how wrong he is, God wants him saved and blessed, and you have no right to want anything diffrent.
and you have no right to redicule him speak angrily or fouly even if you say its in the name of THE TRUTH.
the bible says that a man of DOES NOT STRIVE... but is gentle.
( that isnt to anyone in particular)

my mom told me this
"if you do not love a person, you do not have the right to correct him"
if you dont care enough about him to get down, wash his feet, love him, and pray for him so that he can be saved and changed, you have no right to do anything about him.
becuase without love, your nothing, and without love, your no better than the worst of sinners.

sorry so long,
this issue is something ive been holding inside for a long long time.

Lee.

Hmm...

Yes, I do believe God has used him. Do I believe the guy is 100% truthful though? Not exactly.

From time-to-time, he has claimed to have healed everyone on a certain floor of a hosptil. Then, someone calls the hospital to find out, and they've never heard of the guy, much less heard of any large numbers of recoveries in the hospital.

Maybe he at times gets so passionate about leading people to Christ, he says something untrue to try and get people to become Christians. Maybe he just wants to be famous. Maybe... I could go on for many posts.

What I do know is he has affected people positivily, and he has also outright lied in many cases(and very intentionally). Not that I don't lie, but some of the things he has lied about do concern me...

the truth of those statments are what i deny.
whether it is the truth that he said those things, or the truth that the call returned negative. no, i dont beleive they are accurate.
no i dont beleive he intentionally lies to anyone.

Hinn does have a history of lying.

The "Sault St Marie" hospital incident is a perfect example. He claims to have held a "healing service" at a Catholic hospital in Sault St Marie in which nureses and nuns brought people down to the chapel in such numbers that they were lined up in the halls and, according to Hinn, his "annointing" was so strong that even people walking past on the street were healed.

When contacted, the administration had no recolection of this and only one person associated with the hospital had even heard of Hinn.

This is highly unusual for two reasons:

The first is that it should be noteworthy simply for the number of people healed.

The second is thataccording to the hospital administrator who was interviewed, Hinn, not being Catholic, would have needed special permission from the Archbishop and, again, according to the hospital admin, it would be a very rare and auspicious occasion for a non Catholic to take over the chapel.

It simply doesn't make sense that no one would remember this.

Another excellent example of Hinn's lying is found in his book, "Good Morning Holy Spirit", in which he claims that his father was mayor of Jaffa, Israel.

Again, when this claim was investigated, there is no record of Hinn's father ever having been mayor of Jaffa.

A relatively minor example (but one of my favorites, since I am a big Flyers' fan) is his claim that God miraculously cancelled a game between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Florida Panthers so that Hinn could put on a show in the arena where the game was supposedly scheduled.

When the league offices were contacted, it was revealed that there was never a game scheduled for that night to begin with.

And these things don't even begin to cover the false teachings and false prophecies.

I personally, do not know the man but I know that God has used him greatly.

I also, have 5 very close personal friends who do know him personally. Four of them are Pastors and one of those Pastors had been an employee of Hinn's. The fifth person was my room-mate. All five people have only good things to say about him.

All I can say is that the only personal "experience" I've had concerning Hinn is that he came to Topeka, Ks about three or four years ago and was advertising on a local Kansas City radio station that he would "teach those who show the gift of prophesy" how to do it correctly for $300 a pop in special sessions the days of his crusade. I heard it myself it's not heresay. My question is what is a man that thinks he can show someone to prophesy, which would be a gift given to someone by God for God's will to be done, doing charging such an exorbenant amount of money to do this? What's his motivation??? That's where I'm at on him.

A prophet is to be 100% correct. Never miss once. Never. Ever. Hinn does not fit this. According to scripture itself, Hinn is no prophet.

As to God using Hinn, well....God has made certain promises concerning Himself and His message. That promise is that His word will not return void. If I witness to a guy and he just blows me off, then he turns around and tells his friend what I said, and this friend comes to Christ, is God blessing the man who rejected the message, or being true to Himself?
Remember, even a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while.

Peace.

Please show some bible scriptures that say a prophet has to be always 100% correct. I do not know if the bible says this or not but I ask this do you think its possible for a prophet to be tempted by satan to say something wrong or to change what God says around into false prophecy. I do not know Benny Hinns heart only God does. Not one of us can say we are perfect.

I know no bible scriptures about this but I ask would a false prophet give praise to God and talk about the blessings he has recieved. Please show some scriptures. This is just my curiousty about knowing if someone is false or not. This could relate to all prophets and not just Benny Hinn

We can always ask God about Hinn....just open our hearts and we would find the answer.

Of course for personal opinion, his actions he claims see so superficial and so is his speech....I would have been expecting something more spiritual and filled with wisdom. Healing for him seems superficial, Healing from Jesus is spiritually a Miracle....

technically if Hinn was correct, he would have healed more people than Jesus ever did on earth, because think about it. Jesus was only around Isreal, Hinn is global!

ooooooowwwwww...................! :)

(Deuteronomy 18:15-22, Darby)
15 Jehovah thy God will raise up unto thee a prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him shall ye hearken;
16 according to all that thou desiredst of Jehovah thy God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of Jehovah my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.
17 And Jehovah said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken.
18 A prophet will I raise up unto them from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
19 And it shall come to pass that the man who hearkeneth not unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
20 But the prophet who shall presume to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.
21 And if thou say in thy heart, How shall we know the word that Jehovah hath not spoken?
22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of Jehovah, and the thing followeth not, nor cometh to pass, that is the word which Jehovah hath not spoken; the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: be not afraid of him.

Your welcome. But let me point out that we don't kill them any more, we let God deal with what should be done. We live in a time of grace you know. Simply pay him no mind. I have nothing to do with him as well as many of his TBN friends for most of them have done the same. And there are far more reason beyond that but this is good enough for me. And if you ever speak out against them, fear not for you are Gods anointed. I've been told that I am going to hell for speaking out against God's anointed (them) but as you examine that scripture you will gain wisdom concerning this tactic they use. Study your bible well, as if it meant life or death.

Benny Hinn is human? Get out.

Christians are the only group of soldiers who like to shoot their wounded. How many times has the 9 personalities of God by BH been brought up, even though he admitted him mistake? Doesn't matter, we're on God's mission to hold everything he's done up for the world to see. So sad...

Heck yeah! If a Pastor of my church ever stood up and claimed even one of the heresies BH has rung out, I'd be out the door faster than you can blink and never look back. It's commanded of us! I don't care if he apologized, where in the bible does it say to return to him because he apologises?? It says he should be dead! No not restore him in a spirit of meekness back “into leadership over others”. It says be not afraid of him, not return for more. Why, because he is on TV it's okay? TBN is on my TV's ban list for good reason.

I agree. If a pastor in my church started teaching half of the things Benny Hinn did, he'd be given a chance to repent and correct himself. If he didn't, not only would he be out on his ear, he'd be stripped of his denominational credentials.

The Bible is clear that false teachers are to be considered anathema. It goes on to tell us that those who support false teachers (and this is something Hinn;s supporters should think long and hard about) are "partakers with them in their evil deeds".
