  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

We speak out and should speak out about Christ. Yes you are half right here. But, you missed my point about our methods (perhaps I was trying to get you to see it yourself). Take what is wrong and make a statement of what is right without attacking what is wrong and you will win a few of those cult folks over. Get in their face and tell them how wrong they are and you will lose your chance.

I talk to them all the time but I never attack them with a bible, I find it's better to just read it and let God do what He's best at.

I agree brother. ;)

By the way Hank Hanegraaff has had lunch with Benny Hinn several times in the past and has talked to him about his teachings. The sad thing is that although Hinn has changed his mind and renounced some of his older teachings he has come back with even more far fetched things than in the past. It is truely a tragedy when people do that. :(

It's more of a tragedy when  people know that and still listen and believe his teachings...

That is true sister.

What I find is that the people who follow men like this are not really interested in what scripture teaches, they are more interested in seeing a "sign" or "miracle" than solid, biblical teaching. :(

benn yhin will be accountable to god and will have to answer to him  what he done here on this earth. :sigh:

But we as Christians have a responsibility to tell the truth. If someone is a false prophet (which Hinn obviously is), we would be in the wrong to keep that from the crowds of people who follow him, and support his ministry. Yes, he will answer to God. But we will too if we condone these kinds of things.

Actually, yes I have. I went when I was 11 years old, about ten years ago. When he pointed at the audience, I didn't fall down. I didn't feel a thing.

That's easy to explain Cammie......You are not hyper-suggestible! ;)

Didn’t Jesus do what Benny does?? That’s what Benny says:cry:

I been waiting by my T.V. set every morning just hoping he will say my name with my problems???

What an Idiot I feel:help:

I went to a Benny Hinn crusade, too. Approx. seven years ago in Detroit, MI.

That Katherine Koolman stuff totally spooks me.

He seems to worship her and her memory.:sigh:   Evee

Well Evee,

I believe the Benny Hinn crusade had more to do with 20-22,000 believers coming together and worshiping and praising God then Benny Hinn the man.

If Benny Hinn is committing fraud, the authorities need to step in and take care of it. There seems to be plenty to look at....

I believe Mr. Hinn makes a lot of money off the "God business".

:(

I also believe he could easily be one of those mentioned in Matthew 7:

22 Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?'

23 Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

Folks, I get a awful feeling in my gut when I see threads that are essentially bringing out the worst in us.
We hurt ourselves in the process of publicly attacking others. you will not find a model for this activity in scripture.

Matt 18 is the model for how to approach these issues.
Unless you have had your private meeting with this person, unless you have gone with 2 or 3 others to plead your case to him, you don't belong in here making public statements that include some facts, some rumor and your spin.

Think about it this way. What do you wish to accomplish?
Do you want to show yourself to be different, superior, correct?

Well let's see how you are doing:
Are you different? No, this is the same thing He does.
Are you Superior? No, you have 5 or 6 people in the audience, He has a few more.
Are you correct? Well, You haven't actually said anything about yourselves, it's just about Him. So, who knows.

This process is not Christian.

Great post eldermike,  If it is of God it will stand if not it will fall. We still need to pray for the best of what God has for him. I know I have said some ???? things and look back at my self and just pray God forgive me and guess what? HE DOES. So should we. Believe it or there are alot of people that find the BEST gift of all there. JESUS

But I just heard that he answerd on TV back about what dateline said. Sorry I did not see one of them. Funny you hear nothing about that here.

The closer you get to Jesus you tend to look at your self and all your sin. But as Jesus looks back at you he does not see any sin. Once he forgives its gone. He's happy, overjoyed just to see and talk to you. He said Love your neighbor. Because when you walk in love you don't see the sin.
