Heeeey!!! Can you believe we are now celebrating Beloved Jesus 6?! WOW! A thousand posts since April. that's preety good, thanks to all of you!

Soooo...now we have to work toward Beloved Jesus 7 because "7" is the number of perfection. Are ya with me?

Wow wish I had paid more attention in school, I spent 3 years as a child in Naples and had to learn Italian, but never got to use it when we returned to america. Thanks for translating. It was a powerful expression of His love for Her and hers for Him.

That IS lovely. I watched the vid without the translation and wondered who the older woman was and why she continued to be sad and angry. I assume she didn't believe Jesus was alive again. The vid helped my Spanish some.

On Wednesdays, I meet at lunchtime with the Zoe Club, and we study the book of John. Then one of the women who is a native Spanish speaker helps me with my Spanish. I have been reading the Bible in Spanish. Wednesday night I go to my church home group straight from college. They always have something nice to eat there. We are reading from a book called The Calling of a Generation. We discuss dreams that God has given us for our lives and what things we can do to help them come about. What dreams do each of you have for your lives?

Over the weekend, I attended a book fair called Wordstock. I hoped I wouldn't get behind in my history class on that account. We have three textbooks and have to read out of them every week. Our first paper is due next Friday. I've been praying hard for direction about it. I came up with the idea for it last Friday, got the okay from my teacher, and today I started writing it. I wrote all the main points I thought of and filled in some of the sources I'm quoting from. I still have more sources to add, but even with them, it will be far too short so far. So my next prayer request is for more to add within the theme or a reasonable way to extend the theme. My theme is that a fear of being enslaved by the British was a primary cause of the American Revolution. People who practiced slavery and/or saw it all around them were aware of how horrible it was and had a sense that what they were doing would come upon them. This impression was strong for me, and I had already had my prof agree it's a good subject, when in my required reading I came across a piece by a colonist that perfectly expressed just what I was thinking. He talked a lot about God and his record of rescuing his people and exhorted fellow colonists to pray, then said that the prayers would not avail unless they repented of their sins. The first and chief sin he mentioned was enslaving others.

I thank God for his guidance so far in what seemed a very difficult thing to envision and write, and I trust him to guide me further.

In other news, I got a toothache yesterday and got prayer about it at the "home group." (I put home group in quotes because this particular one is actually in the church building.) I was blessed to get a dentist appointment this morning, but the visit was pretty harrowing. I got feverish and weak from the anesthetic. They gave me an ice pack and let me rest awhile, checking my vitals regularly. Then we decided to go ahead and do what is preliminary to a root canal, but after the assistant took more Xrays and we waited for the new dose of a less problematic anesthetic, the dentist came and told me time had run out for my appointment! Here I was all numbed up after being jabbed deep in the mouth several times, and I have to come back Saturday and have that done all over again! Funny, I was just reflecting this morning before my appointment that I've never had a bad experience at the dentist's.

I missed my Write Around Portland meeting today. I had to go to the store for prescriptions and then carry home the few groceries I bought while waiting (but I did find the movie I was looking for). I focused on starting my paper, which I was nervous about completing by next Friday. The college has a way for students to keep files online so we can work on them anywhere. I called for help in setting this up, and while I was still numb enough that it was hard to talk, enough numbness suddenly went away that the pain set in--while I was on the phone. I had not taken my pain reliever yet, either. Fortunately, the phone call didn't take long.

I had dinner at my friend Tom's house. He prayed with me afterward and gave me a banana and some tuna salad to take home, so I have some good soft food for tomorrow. I should have bought some apple sauce and cottage cheese at the store today but I forgot. At least I bought soup and the blue cheese dressing I forgot to get the other day.

I hope I'm not boring you with these details. I see the Lord at work in my day-to-day life. Lord bless you all! I'm sure you pray for me as well.

Italian? Oh, boy, here I thought it was Spanish! It did cross my mind that maybe it was a different language. I thought of Latin, but why would anybody make a movie in Latin? So I was in the neighborhood, anyway. Both Italian and Spanish are Latin languages.

ummm nope... Irene and myself posted in the Bride of Christ thread this week, including an awesome video by your's truly. I always try to keep both threads up on the board by putting new and exciting, lovely, inspiring things about you know Who...

Sounds like things are going really good for you Robin, you are busy, you dig your Church fellowship, and I'm glad you have a friend who is so thoughtful. those things are important.

I am so glad you like the clip jeff. I like that clip so much I ordered the DVD. I didn't do the translating btw. someone in a different group did. I'm lucky when I speak and spell English in a half way decent manner.

My paper is coming along slowly but surely. I got some help in the college writing center, stuff about format and advice about research. And in the library, I found a book that one of my textbooks referred to that should help me with my theme. Mouth still hurts, and I expect it will be worse for a few days after my appointment. Not looking forward to that needle jabbing me in various parts of my mouth again.

I have my in-laws staying with us for a few days, still working and homeschooling. I cut my hand Tuesday, went to the ER, and got 5 stitches. The good news is no tendons were severed, and I have paid time off. Because of Jesus I am healing quickly, have minimal pain and am returning to work when I desired to be well enough to go back. Praise the Lord!!!

He is good.

I see my mistake with the other thread; It had been cut off and started a new section I had to click on. That's how far behind I am over there.
Have been working hard on my paper. The hardest part is the endnotes. Every time I add something before other notes were numbered, I have to juggle all the numbers on the computer and make sure I don't get them messed up. I have two sources that are online databases (so far), and wasn't sure how to cite them. I tried to follow the advice of one of those databases and hope it's acceptable. Is confusing when I am quoting from a book that puts in its footnotes references to other books and page numbers, and that bunches several notes under one number. Bad enough that I have to prop each book up on another book and peer forward to read and copy out of them.
I think I'm almost done. I need some help getting some facts and citations, which the librarian should be able to help me with tomorrow. I may have the paper done early. But I am behind in my required reading. Might find more sources there in the meantime? My report is just barely long enough. It's supposed to be 8-10 pages, and not counting the end notes, it's 7 1/2 pages. Usually what I write is too long and has to be pared down.
Got to go take my bath--if I can find towels.
