Follow your heart, mine says tithe.

I was going to say.. when I think dwell on this I get a uneasy feeling..a red flag about not tithing. The word ALL if it makes it very clear. To think about the GOD who sent His only son in the flesh. Its just the battle with this flesh. Its a free choice for sure and He wil not judge nor condemn if we do not give. Give there is a reward....yet we do not give to get. The smallest amount can be the greatest in HIS EYES! So give from our heart. Does not always have to be money

I do have an issue with churches that say non tithers are under a curse if they don't tithe

Because of the cross we aren't under a curse

sin has consequences not curses. And I don't consider not tithing to be a sin. Not giving, maybe.
I watch a Lot of Christian TV and I have never heard that said. If I ever hear that I would never watch them again.

That is true. God was exceedingly explicit about just what, when, how, and where to tithe...and nowhere in scripture are His instructions on tithing ever changed or altered.

I note that during the time of the Apostles, up to 70AD, Jews were continuing to tithe in Jerusalem according to the Mosaic Law.

If the Apostles had instructed Christians to tithe, they either would have been as explicit in defining "tithe" in a new way (different from the Mosaic tithe) or else they would have explicitly instructed Christians to carry the proper tithe to Jerusalem according to the Mosaic Law. The instructions would have to be explicit either to distinguish "Christian tithing" from Jewish tithing, or to make tithing a special case of observing a Mosaic Law ritual.

We don't see either thing happening. We don't see them giving instructions to "tithe" differently from the Jews, nor do we see them giving instructions to Christians to tithe according to the Mosaic Law. Rather, the Apostles avoid the word "tithe" entirely, even though they speak liberally of "giving" and "sharing" and making sure everyone's needs are thus met.

There are preachers who usually psychological tactics to extort money from their members through a combination of shame, guilt trips, and questionable application.

When he starts sounding like a salesman that’s a problem. When I see him the same thing I hear in marketing course and events I’m skeptical.

At the end of the day we’re expected to exercise wisdom. No one can shake you down financially without agreement. You can always say no and direct your funds elsewhere.

While I’m not opposed to church buildings per se. The majority are burdensome for their members. It’s a never-ending money pit that never sleeps. Add on employee expenses and ministerial work and the shortfall is understandable.

The donor model works well when people have deep pockets. But there should be a willingness to be more discriminating with the debt and liabilities they create. They should be offering products and services that increase their income.

Deuteronomy 16:
16
Three times a year all your males
shall appear before the Lord your God in the place which
He chooses: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, at the Feast
of Weeks, and at the Feast of Tabernacles; and they shall not
appear before the Lord empty-handed.
17 Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord your God which He has given you.

It would be appropriate to point out that beyond all tithing,
every man was expected to give liberally three times a year,
when he appeared before the Lord.
