  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Although I am a fairly New Christian, I have to say that I came to know of God as a child and to then as an adult now know God on a personal level. My belief of God stems on an emotional as well as physical level. By emotional I mean I feel his spirit inside me daily, guiding me. Physical and mentally I do not see how this world could be otherwise. In other words it is harder to believe that there isn't a God then that there is. I don't see how such a beautiful world could be of a mistake (big bang) whatever you want to call it. There are to many circumstances in the world that just don't fit with mere accident.

More than mental and physical belief I have to say that spiritually and emotionally God the father and God the son have shown me more love than I have ever known. I hope only to make him proud as I grow in this journey in Christ.

God is real in my life and Creation is so much more true then evolution. Miracles happens every day so i do not how to back up faith! All i have to say God is my only hope in living each day he has gotten me through allot in life and for me God who wrote the bible who sent his son died on the cross to forgive all sins and for every believer in Jesus to have eternal life. I know Jesus will win and he is comming back one day i have no doubt.

I cannot remember when I did NOT believe in God. And I thank God that I came to know Him as a small child. What led me to believe Him? He did. We can look around for all kinds of reasons or people that led us to God, but in my humble opinion, it is God himself who draws us to Him.

Through His love (for He loved me first, before I knew how to love), He grew the faith He gave me. The whole getting to know God is a spiritual and not a rational process.

And it is beyond normal ways of explaining. But it is SO real. Praise Him!

I have a question. Ok, two.

Why do you believe in God?
Because I have been blessed with two children and to look into their face and not see something more powerful and wonderful than me, would be unwise.
What has led you to believe in God?
My children.

They will be lead by the little children.

I think I believed in God before I even knew about him.
I was "different" than the rest of my family, and thought that I was wierd until a wonderful preacher appeared on my door step one day and invited me to church. I was a very hungry child, (for God) and ate up everythig I could. I wanted to be saved and baptized, but I was afraid of walking up to the alter in front of the whole congregation. So I prayed, and I prayed, and I prayed. One Sunday while I was praying I thought I felt my moms hand on my shoulder. When I looked up I was in the middle of the aisle half way to the alter. My mom was not beside me, but the hand was still on my shoulder, guiding me. I was 8 years old. It's hard not to believe when you've actually been touched by him. God wanted me saved, but he knew how afraid I was, so he took me in his gentle hands, and guided me along the way. He is so awesome!
