From what I heard on the radio today it was an extreme case of drunken driving.

That's strange, the post above says he was only just over the limit for alcohol, Dutch news is saying the same.
It's an awful thing, so many lives ruined.

So alcohol cannot be the only explanation.

There is the idea that the driver was under drugs. Maybe, maybe not.

But if he was neither drunk nor drugged - why did he do it?

Apparently his social media suggests that he enjoys speeding in cars. He was going 90km (in a 30 zone) and feel asleep at the wheel. It was a tragic accident.

Or the person beside him?
