Dear Musician4Jesus. If we worry, or let everything others tell us, it would be impossible to live an ordered life. I soon realised that people try to be helpful, but they give different advice. Remember that God sees our hearts, and it is God`s will we want to do. Jesus gave us 2 Commandments, 1) love God with all your hearts, with all your souls, and with all your minds. 2) Love your neighbour as yourselves. Jesus finishes bt stating: " on these two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."

I used to be into fishing big time, when I was saved that desire went, I was not told by God to stop or anything, just lost the desire.

Now I run a connect group at our church , my group is a fishing group.
It helps new Christians get involved and feel more comfortable, as well as helping non Christians see what we are about.

Maybe your interest could be used in that sort of way.

Okay I'm really not trying to condemn the person who was asking if it's wrong to smoke cigars with your buddies every now and then.

However, here's my answer. Yes to me it's sinful. The reason I think that is because Scripture says you're supposed to treat your body as your temple. Smoking is bad for your health, even if it's only every now and then.

If you don't take good care of yourself then quite frankly it's disrespectful to God seeing how the Holy Spirit manifests himself within us. I'm not just talking about the physical aspect of health but everything else that applies (emotional, mental, spiritual, etc.)

The ones I can think of are if you're a gamer (as in you like games in any shape or form, board games, massive multiplayer online rpgs, card games such as yugioh or magic the gathering, video games, computer games, etc.)

You must be talking about me. I am one of those people that automatically look down on gamers over the age of 25. But I am trying to correct myself and be fair. My ex-husband was a major gamer and he was addicted. He used to ignore our baby or put her on his lap when he played. I have pics of that. He used to play Halo til 3am with teenagers online. It was his idol. So when I see married men playing video games my eyes automatically start to roll. But like I said, I'm trying to correct my behavior.

I think its because thoes sorts of games are typical of being time wasters. I know when I played games like that (age of empires, etc) I would burn like 4 hrs or more. So you burn a ton of time and have nothing to really show for it. Plus some of thoes games can get really expensive.

I guess I cant really talk as I am saving 70k for an acrobatic plane and there is no reason for it other than entertainment.

I myself play World of Warcraft and even go onto a christian gaming site. I limit my time on it and when I do play I love to play worship music and enjoy my time. I think its more of how much time you spend on these things...how you act doing them and what else you do with yourself. I make sure God gets plenty of my time and even go days without my WoW
