God has spoken to me through dreams off and on since the day I was saved. In fact it was through dreams that He revealed himself to me and brought me to repentance and acceptance of Christ in my life. I'm always curious about the meanings of things and am fascinated that a christian forum would attempt to interpret dreams and visions. Most of what the Lord shows me through dreams, I am aware of their meaning the moment I awake. Only once was I in the dark to it's meaning but over time, I have come to understand most of it. I have had one particular dream which has gripped my heart and I am curious to see how it is perceived by those here. So here it is.
I find myself standing in an open field with rolling hills. It's the most beautiful and peaceful scene I had ever imagined. As I am looking about, taking in the view, I notice off in the distance a lion. Suddenly I am struck with a fear. Fear that if he sees me, I may be his next meal. I slowly start to move away from him hoping he doesn't notice, but he does. I see him moving towards me so I start running. In full panic I am running with all the strength I can find. I look over my shoulder to see where the lion might be and I see him running towards me. Now I know I am in trouble. I keep running and each time I look back, the lion is getting closer. Up ahead of me I see a small boy just standing there, so I run towards him. As I get there I scoop up the boy in my arms and hurl him towards the lion as if to say "here, have him instead of me" and I keep running. I look back and I see the lion run past the boy. The lion glances at the boy as he runs past him but his intention seems fixed on me. Up ahead of me I see a forest of trees and think I might be able to lose the lion in there, but each time I look back, the lion is getting closer. As I reach the edge of the forest I have to jump a small stream but I trip and fall headlong into the embankment on the other side. Suddenly I feel the weight of the lion on my back, pinning me down. I cover my head with my arms to protect my face and wait to be eaten. The lion sticks his nose in the inside bend of my left elbow and pulls my arm away from my face then he licks my face and steps off me. I wait and nothing happens. As I lift my head to see what's going on, I see the lion laying in an almost sitting position on the ground just above my head. He had an expression on his face of extreme satisfaction. He had caught his prey and all he wanted to do was spend time with me. I was no longer afraid but now in wonderment and wanted to be with this lion as well.
The dream is true and I would like to hear your take on this.
