Being Celibate for life

I have felt called to be celibate for life. Has anyone else chosen this path? If so in what ways has your relationship with God changed? I feel closer to God because I have had to rely on him in moments of pain and sadness.

I kind of feel called to that life. Mostly because of how solitary I am and that I feel I would be an utterly inadequate partner for any woman. I quite saddened by this possibility, but not as much anymore.

I am certain there is nothing inadequate about you. I am certain God made a soulmate for every person but I feel more happy single and content in celibacy. Pray to God and He will direct your steps.

Celibacy was a natural conclusion to come to.
I do not have feelings of attraction to anyone.
I neither feel make or female myself.
My solitary and contemplative lifestyle makes this relatively easy.
I can dedicate all my time to GOD and not have to deal with stress and executive dysfunction by factoring time in for someone else.

Thank you for sharing this. I also am solitary and contemplative. At times I long for a relationship but ultimately I am content with knowing God has a soulmate for me even though I stay celibate for life. I enjoy dedicating my time to being closer to God as well.

Thanks for sharing how being celibate feels right for you. Sounds like its going to work out in a way that will bless you.

That would never work for me. So again we see the great variety that God creates. I feel its man who wants to put God's creation in one or two small boxes.

That is really good, I dont have that calling, but I am saving myself for marriage

I don't feel called to it but have chosen it out of avoidance of the chaos and problems of relationships... I have NO interest in missions and such either.. I am closer to God and he's on my mind more than ever but it'll be just the 2 of us... it's not what I wanted but who really get what the want? I won't end up in the situation my parents did.... I want nothing to do with kids.....

I feel like it's a possibility for me ... I don't really mind it like I once thought. Relationships seem so complicated. Being single is so simple.
