What else does God abhor and condemn? Republicans' lists are always so short. Abortion, homosexuality, transgenderism.a Certainly not "thou shalt not lie," given that their leader can give a dozen speeches without telling a single truth, and has been clocked at thousands of lies in his first term. Certainly "thou shalt not steal," considering that he was found to have founded a fraudulent university, committed tax fraud in NY to the amount of half a billion dollars, tried to steal an election by committing insurrection (I guess that would fall under "thou shalt not kill,") in 2020. Certainly not "honor thy father and mother," considering Elon Musk's attack on Social Security and Lutnick's assertion that people who depend on it as their soul source of income are "fraudsters." "Thou shalt not commit adultery?" Well, that's too long a list to tackle.

Thing about abortion, homosexuality, transgenderism...they are sort of outliers. Statistically there are few homosexuals and transgender individuals, so if the religious right just practices some common sense with birth control they will never have to worry about those "sins." Like the lepers in Jesus' time, whom he treated with kindness and healing, they are easily forgotten, and people can pat themselves on the back since they don't think any of the others are worth worrying about...and even admire and vote for those who ignore every single one of them.

I suggest you know the reason. They are the difficult position of knowing that Karoline Leavitt is a dumpster fire - for example claiming that tariffs are a tax cut - and the natural recourse is to try to divert by comparing to past press secretaries.

In their defense, however, if it is indeed true that past press secretaries have been as incompetent as Leavitt obviously is, then those of us who criticize Leavitt need to acknowledge this. But I actually don't think that's the case - I think she is demonstrably dragged the office down to new depths.

The second term from this press secretary you're just getting that every day. The more bombastic and defiant, the more the audience of one likes it.

As for a 27 year old who carries herself with dignity and does not need a binder full of responses - she is an anomaly and quite amazing. Obviously well informed, articulate and in full control of the room.

You don't need a binder for fact checks if your purpose is to lie.

She speaks eloquently, knows her information and does an excellent job of explaining the Presidents positions - everything her opponents do not like.

She does know her attack lines of the day. That is clear.

There is just something about a person who, on the fly, can makes one quip in response, and cause such consternation among the opposition - Good Job keep going.

Easy. First, Trump's approval rating is declining. And not only that, his disapproval rating is the highest than any other newly elected president at this point and time in their presidencies. Second, the Dems disapproval rating is driven by Democrats themselves simply because they aren't happy with the Democrats fixation with protocol and tradition, while the GOP just takes a flame thrower to not only those, but democracy itself.

Katherine Leavitt is real piece of work. I sometimes wonder how she can wear that cross around her neck, and lie and slander with such ease. I have read from some Catholic exorcists that people that are completely demonically possessed are immune from the natural aversion to holy objects. In fact, some of the greatest servants of darkness clothe themselves is the appearance of sanctity. Now I do not doubt it.

Economics teaches that people with low incomes spend a greater percentage of their income than people on high incomes, so any tax on spending hits low income people more than high income people.
BUT people with high wealth tend to have low taxable incomes due to tax planning and tax avoidance, so income tax can also hit the poor more than the rich.
BUT what no one tells you is that economists measure the unevenness of incomes in an index called "Gini", and this was fairly constant in the US from 2011 until 2020 (Biden) when it started to increase.
Anyone who really cares about the inequality of incomes in the US should be watching the Gini index at the US Bureau of Statistics.
