First off, let me apologise if this post is being made in the wrong place.
It is related to ministry, so I figured, why not here?

Starting from the beginning, I've taken a few years of hiatus to spend studying the Bible.
I've been living off of my savings and also off of an Ecclesiastes-inspired contempt for the outside world.
I would almost say that I was a shut in, but I led a very active church life.

As such, I now have not only a deeper understanding of the Scriptures, but a greater love for the Church.
I also have friends who believe in me and trust my word when I start to teach on the Bible.

These are things that I never had before, but now I have something else.
That is, I have a desire to make a "career" out of sharing the Scriptural understanding I've gained.
Many people have tried to encourage me to consider being a pastor, but that is impossible.
I know my limitiations, and to be a pastor requires a whole set of skills and talents which I am not blessed with.

I'm a plain and simple Christian, and I reject any sort of denomination of Christianity.
While I would consider, however, teaching at a Roman Catholic school, they should really be taught by people who know all the prayers and church protocol better than I do.

Still, I wish I knew of some way to avoid exploiting the Bible or profitting off God while still keeping the lights on in my house.

Any suggestions/criticisms would be gladly and warmly accepted.

My brethren, be not many masters (teachers), knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. (James 3:1, KJV)

Enthusiasm is helpful to a point, but a man's got to know his limitations. I find your statement that you'd like to teach in a Roman Catholic school while rejecting any sort of denomination of Christianity problematic.

If your church has Sunday School classes, I would begin teaching there. If they don't, I would prayerfully consider finding another non-denominational church to teach. In today's world where non-Christian morals are pushed in public schools, there are teaching positions available in Christian schools.

They often don't require teaching certificates, but do demand a certain amount of education. You would be wise to find a place that you would like to teach and enquire what the qualifications are to teach at that institution. You should also be aware that these schools tend to hold conservative views and expect their teachers to do the same.

After a thorough search, it should be clear to you what options are available and what you need to do school and work wise to achieve your goal of obtaining a job/career teaching the gospel.

It is my guess that you will end up working a regular job and teaching Sunday School unless you have access to student loans that will pay for the education you require.

I pray that the Lord will direct your path.

There were two clauses in the sentence about teaching Roman Catholic school.
The first clause showed a relcutant wish to teach at one, the second that I would rather not because I'm not technically a Catholic.

It's the same reason that while I do attend Mass at a certain Catholic church near my house on Sundays (while other kids my age are out drinkin' on Saturday nights, I'm listening to sermons at a Protestant church :p) I don't go to the front to receive the Eucharist.
I have no problem with playing by other people's rules.
