Crofter said:When she was 9 months old she started climbing out of cots and play pens and so we put my daughter in a bed when she was 11 months old because there was no cot she couldn't climb out of.
At a year old I would find her six foot up sat on top of the wardrobe and after a couple of times I got cross with my partner thinking he was being funny... but he said he wanted to tell me to stop putting the baby up there cos it wasn't funny...
...so we realised she was climbing up there on her own. She pulled out the draws of a tall chest and made a ladder and climbed up and along the furniture until she reached the highest point in the room... then sat there waiting to see the terror on our faces when we walked in the room.
We just made sure the room was as safe as we could make it... and moved the wardrobe away from all furniture. Also remember to fix tall furnature to the walld cos kids climb up shelves and all sorts and they can overturn and hurt them... use window locks socket covers, safe toys etc... if there is a danger the kids will find it!
I don't think that's a problem at all. So long as you are happy with it and don't need the cot for anyone else. I have a friend whose son is nearly 3 and moved to a bed about 3 months ago. It's perfectly normal.tonya said:That is too funny!!! Kids and the things they do...no wonder parents have wrinkles and gray hair. My daughter is 2...she just had a b-day on july 18 and he still sleeps in her baby bed...imagine that!!! she tries to climb in it but she has not tried to climb out of it yet soooo...i have just kept her in the baby bed...is that bad?? i figure i will turn it into a toddler bed by Christmas...my cousin waited until her child was 3 before putting her in a toddler bed.
