  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Where would you like to be metaphoricaly in 10 years time (spiritualy / career / hopes / dreams) ;) John

I would like to have grown in my faith, to have given all areas of my life to God, and to be in a position to help others.

Bert and Ernie or Big Bird and Snuffy? ;)

None...are they all sesame street characters? I hated that show...:sorry:

What's the best thing about living in England?
Are you at university?
Is there anywhere in UK you'd like to travel to, that you haven't yet?

1.) Stunning countryside and rich history.
2.) Yes, I'm studying environmental science. Tommorrow, I have a 6 hour practical which I am dreading :o.
3.) I haven't travelled much, the list of all the english cities I have visited are Bristol, London, Exeter. That is about it. Bath is on my list of cities to travel too, I actually considered going to uni there a year ago.

What country or countries would you like to visit? :)

There are so many because I have hardly travelled. I would love to go on a rock n roll pilgrammage arounf the USA . Canada is also on my list, I might be going there as an exchange student next year.

Which uni are you at?
Are you part of the CU?
What is the Environmental Science course like? What do you hope to do with it? Which year are you in? How many years have you got left?
Have you scuba dived?

1.) Plymouth. I have lived here all my life, going to my local university is more convenient and affordable :). There is also the fact that it is one of the best places in England to go to for my course, we have the coastline and Dartmoor National Park and the course has been running for 30 years.

2.) It is exciting but challenging. Right now, it is very intense but apparently all science subjects are like that. On average, I spend 18 hours a week in lectures/labs/tutotials. Today, I was there for 7 hours!. Most courses are only like 12 hours a week I believe. We get lots of work and have been told that if we expect the first year to be easy then we are going to be in for a shock lol. The thing I like about this course is that it teaches you so many skills and will prepare me for the world of work.

3.) First year! I have been there for 7 weeks. I would have gone to uni two years ago, however I wanted to consider my options more.

4.) No. There is a diving course with my uni. I was going to do it but it is too expensive for me.

Have you done any DofE Award?
As part of your course, do you do a lot of stuff with Geography/Biology people, like you do at A Level (assuming you did A Level Environmental Science so would know what I'm on about :))?
What is your church like?
Are you part of any societies at uni?

1.) Wanted to but never got round to it.
2.) We go into those areas yes :)
3.) I don't go church (yet)
4.) Geology (which I have not been to lol) and Christian Union. In January, I want to join the adventure and expedition society.

Whoa, how could you hate Sesame Street! It's classic kid stuff. Did you always?
Where in the States might you be an exchange student next year?

Yep, I've always had a strong dislike for it. I would always watch the last 5 minutes whilst waiting for another show to start and thought it was boring and creepy.

Not sure, I might not even do it now lol. I will see what happens :)

What is the Christian Union like? Have you been to any churches?

Where do you see yourself in 10 years time? :)

1.) The CU is going alright! I haven't made any close friends there yet but most people seem nice and encouraging. The meetings have been great, and I feel like God really speaks to me through them.

2.) I have no idea but the Lord reassures me that he has good plans for me (Jeremiah 29:11 - I think).

So, how was that Christmas party?

I decided not to go because a.) It was too cold b.) I needed some nice heels..lol and 3.) Hardly anyone was going since most had gone home from uni.

Bon Scott or Brian Johnson?

If I had to choose then it would be Brian Johnson!!

What do your parents/family think of you being a Christian?
What do you like about uni?
What music do you like?
What has God been doing in your life recently?

1.) At first my mum thought I had been brainwashed and she was pretty worried for, she did not understand it at all. Now, she is thinking of converting herself. My Dad already had some belief in God so he was happy to see me become a believer. As for my sisters, the younger one hated it but now is slowly starting to come to faith, my older one is a staunch athiest though.

2.) Meeting some great people!! The independence!! The learning!!

3.) Classic rock, soul, all sorts really apart from most chart stuff.

4.) Giving me a message and putting me through the test.
