  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I also do beading. Ornaments are a great idea. I really want to figure out how to properly do the netted beading over glass christmas ornaments. I have tried, but I have failed. If anyone has some pointers, I'd be very greatful.
Generally, I make little bracelets or necklaces, or stuff like that.
Recently I used a beading loom for the first time-- That was an experience! :)
If anyone has some cool instructions for jewelry, that would be wonderful. Be blessed Children of God.
In His Peace,

I used to make earrings and other things out of beads. I once attached beaded fringe to a jean jacket. It was a "project"!! That was 15 years ago and I still have it. It must weigh 20 pounds...once I went dancing and a string fell off and went all over the dance floor  . Not sure what to do with it...

But the earrings and necklaces and bracelet making was a cool hobby.

I like to bead. Beading is peaceful to me. I use lots of different sizes and shapes of beads. I like seed beads and the loomed look, but I like doing the two needle weave thing better than looming. There aren't so many lose strings to deal with in finishing the piece like there are after looming. Right now my fixation seems to be three strand bracelets done on tigertail with toggle clasps.

I make beads in a torch, it is such a blessing to be able to do it for a living. I worked for dental admin for 20 yrs and finally turned my hobby into my full time job. This lets me take care of my mom, she has Alzheimers - but she still is a blessing, and also support us all - God is good! I love all types of beads and beaded objects and now He has made it possible for me to make them every day!!

I used to do bead work... Then I moved countries and here beads cost 2.5 times more expensive than in Israel... and the store I looked at makes 5 times profit! I know, because this store gives the bead price by weight and I know the price at a factory store, the kind where you have to buy a minimum of 60$. Also I can't find clasps for the kind of bracelet I used to do.

So in Israel, I could sell extra-long bead strings that can be used as necklaces or bracelets, for 7$ at 3$ an hour of work, or 13$ at 6$ an hour, but here, it would cost 19$ at minimum wage. Who wants to by a string of beads at that price when you can get a less colorfull and slightly shorter one that is just as pretty for 2$ made by a chinese?!?

Too bad>
