Be Prepared

1 Peter 3:15: But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

A very clear instruction from our Lord!

Today there are more people in the world than ever before. More lost people looking to us for answers. So we must be prepared to give them THE Answer. We must live the life we claim. We must exhibit the fruit of the Spirit, and demonstrate the Love of God if we are to win these.

But it is also important that we lead our fellow Christians by example. If new Christians see us exhibiting anything short of the fruit we are to display it could cause them to become discouraged and give up on the walk they have started. It is imperative that those naming the Name of Christ to NEVER "argue" in an open forum, or to put on public display disputes over doctrine.

Jesus, Himself taught us to settle our disputes in private, and even nature itself teaches us the same thing!

I agree Gerry,
And this is such an easy trap to fall into! One I have found myself falling into occasionaly. But I can thank the Lord for pulling me out of such situations, and pray that I wont fall into the same trap again. The Bible clearly tells us not to argue with each other. We must be very careful in all we say or do, so that we don't appear to simply be giving Christians a bad name.

Yes, I am afraid there have been many times when I have brought shame on the Name of Jesus. I pray no such occassion will ever be repeated. I have renewed my self to be prepared always, in every situation, to Glorify the Name of Jesus.

I would ask that if you see me doing this in other threads, please PM me and tell me. I've been in the field of law so long that sometimes I can resemble a Pharisee instead of a Christian. I don't mind anyone bringing me to accountability, in fact, i need that badly from you all until I get grounded in a good church. Thanks
