You did it once, and because it wasnt Jesus talking to you, that makes it wrong for everyone to go to Jesus for answers? Now Jesus told us his people will hear his voice and he would lead them. Now that is in the Bible. Also everything Jesus will ever tell us will not contradict anything in his Word.Ok, I will solve this problem real quick. Not once in Scripture is it told that us believers are to go ask Jesus if something is true or not. Be very careful when asking God something like that. I asked him something like that once, and I would never ask him again. My experience is that you will have an experience, but you might not like it. BTW, have you asked Jesus if the Book of Mormon is true? You know, the Mormons say the exact same thing you say. Just ask Jesus if it's true! Than you get some kind of warm feeling, and you know it's true. Sorry, but this is the way demons mascarade as angels of light. You don't trust you emotions, nor your feelings, and you had better check what "Jesus" told you with scripture, because if it contradicts, it's not from God.
Now because the Mormons say something that makes everyone who says something like them wrong? Do the Mormons judge who is talking to them by the Word of God alone, or do they have their church tradition also as a judge?
