I guess, it does not mean anything to me.

When we were dating he gave me a colorful clay monster that he had sculpted. It had extremely long nipples that it was holding in it's hands. It was about a little bigger than an action figure. I think it was green, but it was not a ninja turtle. It was just a funny little guy that he had put a lot of work into. He gave me a homemade card too. I prefer homemade.


Currently, we don't celebrate Valentines Day, and his dad likes to hassle him about it. Ha!

I don’t understand why people are stuck on it being a materialistic holiday. Yes, like almost everything, our society capitalizes on it. But Valentine’s Day has been around for hundreds of years -- way before the mass marketing we know so well today (in almost every sector of our lives). Corporations don’t own the rights to Valentine’s Day. You don’t have to buy a thing to make the day special. Like a “date night” it is just a time you can take aside to make things extra special for your spouse. You don’t have to, but I enjoy the excuse to make another day special.
