  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ephesians 4:32 And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you.

Even though we rejoice and thank God that our sins are forgiven, knowing that we would be lost forever without that forgiveness, we still struggle to forgive and to have compassion toward others.
When we read a verse like this we agree, and our hearts are filled with a warmth towards others. Not so when someone cuts us off in traffic, or cheats us in some transaction, or belittles us with an insult, or disappoints us.

It is strange the difficulty we have with kindness, compassion, and forgiveness to those who are closest to us, our parents, our spouse, our children, our brothers and sisters, and our in-laws.
Whenever we are angry with others, let us remember, that is the time for kindness, compassion, and forgiveness. From the cross Jesus said, "Father,
forgive them." Lets do the same!!!

Heavenly Father, how many times I rejoice in Your compassion and forgiveness of my sin. Help me to forgive those who sin against me, and
enable me to forgive even as You have forgiven me.:amen:
