In this crowd of people I swim

Getting pulled and torn

Pulling and tearing limb from limb

My mask is tethered and worn



I need to find a place to hide

From this crowd of pain

I need to leave these pressures behind

Before I’ll go insane



People hide themselves in fear

So I ask then can I too

Fear is holding them back from life

And they don’t have a clue



If you like someone don’t hide away

Take a chance and talk

Why hide away and deplete yourself

Or away then they will walk



You’ll make up stuff to hide the truth

And behind your wall of lies

You’ll find you need to leave that place

And find a compromise



So just be brave and speak your mind

Or the truth will still seep out

Still be safe but don’t obsess

In yourself you need less doubt
