  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The eldest person in our band is mid-50s, but the average age is in the 20s. Our choir on the other hand, has the youngest person about 70.

In my experience in churches with praise bands, the LCMS had the praise band for 2 of their 3 services - I even found myself just feeling entertained and LCMS holds very tightly to monitoring the words and all about their praise bands. Otherwise in the evangelical services I've seen strobe lighting and electric guitars without a cross in sight (it may have been covered by the huge screen). Luckily, I've never been in an Anglican/Episcopal church with either. One Catholic Church even had a screen for "presentations" while another was almost covering the crucifix. Oh, I do prefer a cross rather than a screen, a choir and organ/strings/flute, etc.

Regarding the BCP, do you think anything from the 1928 BCP would be added (my own sentimentality)?
