Kant's critique of reason shifted the focus of theology toward morality; religion became a means of achieving virtue.
All nature and all history testify to God the Creator; all things return to him.
God redeems and reveals; we know, understand and believe.
Idolatry, taken in its broadest sense, is born of the human need for a God who is near.
Religious need seeks satisfaction; and where it is not met in a real revelation from God, it will seek it in the way of "will-worship."
Superstition is an illegitimate surrogate for true religion and a caricature of [Christian] faith.
