  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I saw several of last years episodes and was stunned at the high quality of the show.

I purchased the miniseries DVD back in the spring and just picked up the Season 1 DVD box that came out on September 20.

Now I have two copies of the miniseries.

I have been working through the early episodes and just completed the fourth one.

Yeah, the season finale last year was beyond belief. This is easily the best sci-fi show in a long time, the story quality, character development, acting and production values are excellent.

I also love how deep the show goes, tackling everything from terrorism, political idealism, democracy, religion, technology, cancer, civics, the division of powers, it just goes on and on.

So, there is at least one other BIG fan of the new BSG on the forums!!!

Because I live in Canada my only access to new episodes (at least legally) is a television station called "Space" and they have stated they won't start showing season 2 until January but will show all episodes without taking the pause that I have heard Sci-Fi is taking (half season in the summer, half season in January).

I can't be the only fan around, I went through several stores yesterday trying to track down a copy of season 1. I was told that it was selling as soon as it hit the shelves but managed to snag a copy that someone had already taken from the shelf but ended up leaving it in another section of the store.

Just watched the summer finale - can anyone else say - HOLY _______! That's good TV!! Talk about tension! My heart is pounding.

It's been a while since we agreed on something. :D

ahem:
***Spoiler Alert***

What a cliff hanger. At first I was thought, "this so awesome, now they have two Battlestars"... then the twist!!! They are already on the brink of civil war.

I just about punched my tv when the "to be continued" popped up.

BTW, how do you like Xena: Warrior Princess as a Cylon? ^_^

And for my fellow obsessed SG-1 fans, we now know that Imhotep is also a Cylon. ;)

They really pulled together a top-notch cast for this series. I've seen just about every charater in something or other.

I haven't read much in this thread, because I just finished watching the first season on DVD and have caught the first 2 episodes of season 2 since they're being replayed now, but MAN is this a good show! I can't remember the last sci fi series I enjoyed this much and I'm the king of star trek geekiness.

I have been waiting for Space to bring the second season forward. They seem to never want to pay full price for a timely release. So we simply have to wait until they can pick it up when the price drops. That they are going to eventually show season two is some of the best "Space" news I have heard. Thanks.

:)

I wonder if they can even afford the rights to first broadcast of it. They play some great shows but the station itself seems kind of amateurish to me.
