Battlefield Modern Combat will be coming out for the Xbox and PS2 this October 25th and I am totally anticipating this game. Actually, I have been waiting for it to come out on the consoles since...ahem...1942 on the PC. DICE has been legendary but a small company and I remember being a huge fanatic of Rallisport Challenge 2 (imagine THAT on Xboc 360!).

Does anyone have the Battlefield 2: Modern Combat demo? It came with the Official Xbox Magazine, so you might have it. Anyway, I have been playing it over and over again online and there are TONS of of players online and the actual game isn't even out. I have meant a guy on there that has been in the Army for 40 years...that is amazing. We meant up several times on the battlefield and drove in tanks together - so sweet.

But when you see a helicopter over you it is panic because that thing can take out a tank easily.

If you do want to play me in the demo, my Live gamertag is WebQuad.

When the 25th comes, I am sure this game will be mentioned all over this forum

GAME ON!

I don't know man...why not just buy BF2 for the PC? You don't need a super-computer to run it like some people say you do...the console version is very watered down compared to the original....plus no great mods. I think BF2 for the PC may have gone down in price too now.

Actually, I have to disagree. Minimum Requirements....1.7 GHz CPU and 512 mb RAM? I barely meet that, and that's the MINIMUM requirements. They recommend a 2.4 GHz processor and 1gb of RAM, which I don't even come close to.

I'm looking forward to getting this for the console not only because it's built for the system (no upgrading needed), but also I can sit on my comfy couch with a controller and watch things blow up on my TV instead. :)

I just went out and bought this game for Xbox, and it's amazing! My gamertag is Cryptic Marquee if you want to add me.

Everyone uses teamwork, and the vehicles are done very well for this console. I loved getting in a tank and blowing away those attack helicopters, until I was C4'ed :p I'm having loads of fun with this game, and it's only been a few hours.

I just have one problem. The level's called Deadly something (can't remember), but so far both times I went on it, after about 5 minutes my game froze and made an infinite beeeeeeeeeepppppppppp sound. I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but it's annoying. I have to reset everytime it happens. However, on all the other maps, I'm having 0 problems.

I prefer to be the sniper and assault classes. :)

Yeah for PC its a resource hog. Thats a reason why I like console online games, you just pop it in and go. No crashes, no major updates or fixes, video card issues or whatevers. Just pop it in and go, plus you're on a 42" HDTV. :D

All BF games are addicting. I'm going to rent it and go to my bros house who has DSL.

I have a 3.3 ghz, with 1.5 gigs of RAM, and I can't run BF2.
It has something to do with my videocard and mother board.
It would have costed me 300 to fix up my PC. I decided to wait for the 360.

What kind of video card do you have? I can play BF2 on medium settings and some high just fine with a 3.0 and a gig of ram with radeon 9800 pro.

The thing that makes BF on the PC so appealing is the fact that when you buy it..you are getting a ton of quality games with it all in one. Two mods in particular coming out actually blow away the actual GAME they are based on.:)

I wish I could get it for the PC, but I have a 1.7 GHz intel proc. M with 512 mb ram and a 128mb ATI mobility radeon pro. As you can see, even low settings would be hard to get. That's why I'm just going with xbox. I seem to be having some bugs though, dunno if everyone's having the same problems.

OUCH.

You know...now is a good time to upgrade...prices for PC parts has dropped extremely low..you can get a radeon 9800 pro for under $150 now. A gig of ddr ram can be bought wayyy less than that. (seen it for $60) An AMD 3.0 or even a 3.1 will run you only around $160 or less. (obviously you'd have to buy each part seperately and save up for the next)

Steel it's a *ahem* laptop, and it's a few months old. :D I don't have a PC, because I'm away at college and I can't lug around a huge PC, so laptop was the way I went. Since I can't upgrade the laptop (don't know how you could do that) I'm stuck this way. :(

I'm having a fantastic time on BF:MC for the Xbox. The graphics are better than I had expected, there's a great mix of vehicles, and a diverse selection of maps.

I almost always play as support, but I've recently been using the assault and engineer classes a bit more.

Probably the best online FPS for the xbox.

The graphics are awesome!
It handles very well!

Does it have the squad and commander system like the PC version?

I don't know yet.
It does have 25 vs 25, but at first there was some major online issues from what I hear.
I downloaded a patch that was just put out for it, and people are saying it's much better.

One beef I have with the game, is the indicators above the head.
The good side about having them, is campers have a much much harder time finding spots to hide, they have to be very far away.
The bad side is, you can't hide if you're close. So if there is a bush right there, it does you no good because you have this big Red indicator above your head.

erg...that's obnoxious...it destroys the whole point of being Spec Ops..which is a more stealth based kit. (i'm assuming spec ops is in this version like the pc one...)

Yeah they do have a spec-ops.

Another huge let down is that there is no lobby, and after each round the teams usually change around because you have to keep picking sides.
No lobby sucks. The game just keeps going and going with no breaks.

If people are seeing your indicator it means you aren't being stealthy. You need to utilize cover, keep moving, and try to get behind them. I have successfully approached flags undetected using the support kit.

No, BF:MC does not have the squad/commander system, so organization is not enforced. Having such a stiff pecking order doesn't really make sense on a 24 person server, though, and communication between players (who almost all have headsets) is in general very very good regardless of the lack of a formal 'chain of command'.

No lobby totally sucks!
This one one of the worst features with Star Wars Battlefront, which is why I'm probably not going to get the second one.

With this game it's impossible to do clan matches it seems.
I don't think they have a clan feature, and without that you can't prevent people from bouncing in the room.

So no clan matches, and no chill time in the lobby, equals worthless game.
I can only have so much fun just playing this game because of it's limitations.
