There is a battle raging between those promoting different forms of Preterism in the Church of Christ, first established by Campbell.
2Ti 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2Ti 2:16 But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.
2Ti 2:17 And their message will spread like cancer. Hymenaeus and Philetus are of this sort,
2Ti 2:18 who have strayed concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow the faith of some.
.
I finally decided to look up that Christian Denomination.
BTW, why do you quote 2 Tim 2 concerning them? Just curious.

Churches of Christ - Wikipedia
Churches of Christ are
autonomous Christian congregations associated with one another through distinct beliefs and practices.
Represented chiefly in the
United States and
one of several branches to develop out of the American Restoration Movement, they claim biblical precedent for their doctrine and practice and trace their heritage back to
the early Christian church as described in the
New Testament.
More broadly, the Restoration Movement was an evangelistic and Bible-based effort launched in various places as several people sought a return to the original teachings and practices of the New Testament.
Christian leaders including
Robert Sandeman,
James O'Kelly,
Abner Jones,
Elias Smith, Rice Haggard,
Thomas Campbell, Alexander Campbell, Walter Scott, and
Barton W. Stone were trailblazers of similar movements that impacted the eventual phenomenon known as the
American Restoration Movement.

Restoration Movement - Wikipedia
The
Restoration Movement (also known as the
American Restoration Movement or the
Stone-Campbell Movement, and pejoratively as
Campbellism) is a
Christian movement that began on the United States frontier during the
Second Great Awakening (1790–1840) of the early 19th century.
The
Second Great Awakening was a
Protestant religious
revival during the early 19th century in the United States. The movement began around 1790, gained momentum by 1800 and, after 1820, membership rose rapidly among
Baptist and
Methodist congregations whose preachers led the movement. It was past its peak by the late 1840s. In a reflection of
Romanticism, the Second Great Awakening was characterized by enthusiasm, emotion, and an appeal to the
supernatural. It rejected the skeptical
rationalism and
deism of the
Enlightenment.
The Restoration Movement was not a purely
North American phenomenon, and active
mission efforts began in the 18th century.
[7] There are now Churches of Christ in
Africa,
Asia,
Australia,
South America,
Central America, and
Europe.
The Restoration Movement developed from several independent strands of religious revival
that idealized early Christianity.
Two groups, which independently developed similar approaches to the Christian faith, were particularly important.
[6]
The first, led by
Barton W. Stone, began at
Cane Ridge, Kentucky, and identified as "
Christians".
The second began in western Pennsylvania and Virginia (now West Virginia) and was led by
Thomas Campbell and his son, Alexander Campbell,
both educated in Scotland;
they eventually used the name "
Disciples of Christ".
Both groups sought to restore the whole Christian church on the pattern set forth in the
New Testament, and both believed that
creeds kept Christianity divided.
In 1832 they joined in fellowship with a handshake.
