I must say that I am surprised at the initial response...

but how can you vote any other way?

Like this: I vote Clash ;) I agree with a couple of the other voters here that the Beatles are overrated; probably the most overrated band of all time. The Clash, on the other hand, will probably always be my favorite punk band.

Believe me if the desert island ever came up, I would take London Calling with me. I voted for the Beatles because I can't say that I've ever been burned out on the Beatles. I listened to the Clash so much in High School I could probably go the next 10 years and be fine. A friend and I actualy used "Lost in the Supermarket" in a short film we did our jr. year, the film wasn't the greatest but atleast it had a cool opening track.

Well... seeings how my father is quite possibly obesssed with the Beatles.. and I literally wasl istening to them before i was born
(Dad used to put the Beatles on, and put the headphones on my mum's belly so I could hear lol)
ANd Beatles are one of my fav bands regardless. I really think they opened the door to sooo much great music. I really think they contributed to what music is today.

Oh and btw- Ringo is soooooooooooo NOT overrated. RIngo was always my fav beatle :D
OK, I shall take this opportunity to decide that Richard Starkey is not overrated. :D Thank you all for listening and please ignore all that I have said in the past on the subject.

My friend said something really funny the other night, it went something like this:

"The Clash is like the Taliban, they have an extremely small following who would die for them."

hahaha
That'd be applicable to Phish, wouldn't it, ps? :p

Having now listened to The Clash, they get my vote. The Beatles are way too overrated and I only see two good qualities;

1. They gave U2 three songs to play good covers of. Rain was an awesome impromptu concert closer.
2. Ringo Starr. Why? Nothing to do with his drumming. I grew up listening to him as the narrator of Thomas The Tank Engine and I loved him long before I knew he had anything to do with The Beatles.

Axver, I totally forgot about Ringo narrating Thomas the Tank Engine. Thank you for reminding me of his excellent work on one of the greatest locomotive shows in history.

Hey, I like The Clash!

The Beatles are one of the most detestable bands that ever existed, IMO.

Let's see: I don't like their songs, and they all looked like fruitcakes appearance-wise. That's basically it. I hate most sixties bands anyway ('cept Steppenwolf and The Doors), but The Beatles take the cake.

LOL!!
By the way, my vote went to the four lads from Liverpool, The Beatles that is. Also, I'm way encouraged that so many of our younger posters actually know both these bands! You guys rock!!
Peace,
Eusebios.
