Bathroom Mishaps

I did it!

I solved a problem that was a plague for years!

I have two boys, right now they are 8 and 11. With their daddy being at sea most of the time, they were the only ones here in the house who could be missing the toilet when they went pee.

Oh how annoying to visit the bathroom with a yellow stained floor around the toilet. I was ALWAYS cleaning it up.

Did a toilet bowl target work? NOPE

Did having them clean the floor work? NOPE

What did?

Using those blue die toilet water cleaners that you drop into the tank.

How did this work?

Its a game actually. Blue and yellow make green - so the challenge for the boys was to make as much green as possible - the greener the better!

Ahhh, no more yellow stained floors!!!!!!!

What are or were your bathroom annoyances w/your kids and how have you solved the problems?

i'm going to have to go shopping for blue toilet blocks this afternoon.


Most of the time my son manages to pee where he is supposed to, but sometimes he is a little "off-target"!

My son is 8 years old and still sits down to pee. I've talked to my hubby about this, about teaching our son to pee standing up, but he says that if J is happy sitting down then there's no reason to rock the boat.

I'm not really happy with that, but J is such a sensitive child who really hates change of any kind, and I do think that it's my husband's job to teach him as he's around all the time.

Am I worrying about nothing....will J decide on his own that he wants to stand up, and is he likely to face ridicule at school if he doesn't learn what to do?

Advice from a man: don't worry about this!!! If he does get ridiculed at school, then he will soon change -- peer pressure is a huge thing!

If he's happy peeing this way, then let him!

Until this blue tab thing, I would have been thrilled for my boys to sit. My hubby even suggested to me to have them sit.

I still would not mind it at all. If your kid still sits as he gets older, there are always private stalls in men's bathrooms that he can make use of. As I see it, the urinals are there for quick convience and nothing more.

I wonder if my boys miss their aim in those things????
