  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

My base tags will not stay on my car. We've been through three sets in three months and just got a set two weeks ago. We finally just taped them to the inside of the window because they will NOT stop falling off. The AF guards didn't care, but yesterday when I went onto the Army base, the guards took away my tags because they *have* to be on the outside of the car. When I explained that they won't stick to the outside of the car, the guard said that I must be lying because tags don't fall off cars. So my question is, has anyone had their tags fall off a car, and what did you do to keep them on? And yes, I cleaned the window before putting them on.

I've honestly never had this problem. I've not seen it happen before. We have to have them on the lower part of the driver's side of the windshield, although I know some bases have them up by the rear view mirror.

Every USMC base we have been to requires them. You will have to do the whole inspection thing if you don't. I know Camp Pendleton has been more lenient as of late, but we were there around 9/11, so it was pretty strict back then.

I do understand them not wanting them taped on the inside, however. Anyone could get a set of tags of another car and do that if it were allowed. When we traded in our last van, we even had to scrape the tags and turn them in to get new ones for our new van.

We haven't ever had problems with them not sticking either. I know you said that you make sure the windsheild is clean, but if you are cleaning it right before applying the sticker, make sure to give it plenty of time to dry first, probably a good 15 minutes or so just to be safe. Other than that, I don't really have any other ideas. I hope you get them to stick soon!

clean the windshield with rubbing alcohol where the sticker is going to go let it completely evaporate and then apply the sticker...

some cleaners (even glass cleaners) contain an oil that will disolve adhesive. Especially rain x and other car car products.

if that doesn't work...my brother in law uses clear silocone to keep his on...
and when he's transferred there's no annoying scraping of old stickers off ;)
