Baptist union Vs Independant Baptist

Can anyone simplify the differences from a Biblical standpoint please?

Here in Australia there seems to be the two factions of the heading 'Baptist'

One is supported by a Governing body and I guess they each support the other. Baptist Union

The other stands alone financially and has no support Independant Baptist
