Baptism is Election?

I recently heard Dr. Joel Biermann say, "baptism is election."

What does that mean exactly? That those baptized are the elect of God?

Don't mind if I do....since you've moved on, how similar is Orthodoxy to Lutheranism especially on the areas of the sacraments?

We're more similar to Catholics as we recognize the same seven major sacraments. As I am a guest here on the LCMS forum, I'd rather move this to some other forum such as St. Basil's Hall in the EO forums where you can ask questions of EO.
