What in the world? Last night I heard my name called twice before I went to bed. Then I awoke to a flash siren " woot! " then silence..At my bedroom door a blinding white light hovered and then was gone..

Any thoughts?

Sounds like a warning to me. If I were you, I would take it to the Lord in prayer and ask HIM what it means.

Very intriguing to be honest. Did you feel scared or peaceful?

Whatever it was, I wouldn't dwell on it so much as to the point of 'wanting' or 'asking' to see it or experience it again.

We know that the Devil can work miracles as well and can appear as an angel of light. If it wasn't anything man-made like an electronic malfunction of some sort or whatever then the very fact that this 'thing' appeared and disappeared out of nowhere should raise an alarm.

If God was to command an Angel to go appear before you or give you a message he would have done so right there. The angel wouldn't appear and disappear without you knowing what's going on and would give you the message when he first appeared. So the fact that this 'thing' appeared and disappeared in such a manner looks very suspicious to me.

Hi, Buzymom -- what a shaking experience!

Remember that God is in control. And you have spiritual authority.

I heard something last night about electricity that struck me, and I know this is just a tiny fizzle of what you saw and heard. Someone who worked on power lines described feeling, seeing, and hearing electrical charges when he was near an electromagnetic field.

He described one sensation that doesn't relate but I think a lot of people get -- a feeling that something was on his shoulder or back. (He had to ignore it when he was climbing the lines or swatting could send him off balance.)

I am not trying to weaken what you saw -- I guess I'm writing this for people reading who are thinking they've seen similar things. We live in this age where static electricity is high in our heated homes, wireless phones and computers are sending signals through the air, we're living near power lines.... and living on a planet that gets surges of e-m charges.

That doesn't explain any of what you saw and heard...

It didn't appear to be anything harmful...If it was I had already rebuked it or ignored it...Either way I slept peacefully after seeing it...Today was an okay day...Its been one month since my dad passed away...We finished cleaning up his property and all went well...

I don't believe your nuts. In my lifetime I've seen and heard all kinds of bizarre things.

Hearing your name spoken didn't keep you from laying your head on your pillow and falling to sleep, so that didn't freak you out. God was trying to get your attention, but you were tired.

The weirdo ball of light did get your attention. You did well in rebuking it. Let the incident go.

It's too bad that the people closest to us only want to see normal realities ... but be assured that there are many people on the forum who have seen wild things they could not easily explain. Sift through the spritual warfare/deliverance sections, and back through dreams several pages.

I have heard people interviewed who saw balls of light every day in their house. I have friends who have heard audible voices. It's common but not appropriate or acceptable to talk about. Oh well.

I'd imagine that you would wonder if your father was connected to any of this, and that I really can't say. It's scriptural to not consult the dead, but it's not clear whether the dead are around.

Hi , i've also had similar experiences but didn't ask anyone because I didn't want to see them look at me like i was weird. I've been a christian since 1986 and went through a lot before being saved so there's a lot of things I just ignore. If you find an answer please let me know. God bless Lady Marion

Jesus said "the sheep hear my voice" (John). If Jesus called your name and you are a sheep, you would know.

In any case, from what I can gather using your mention of the white light, this dream is about you needing to think something or respond in some way. The one dream I had like this (white light then green light) God was telling me an answer to something that was in my heart; He was telling me that I needed to think and respond in a certain way to a problem I was facing, that was on my heart.

You have not told us what was on your heart at the time, but it is up to you whether or not you think that is for anyone to know.

Honestly, just grief. My heart is broken by my own grief and by my 8yr old daughter's grief. Thats really all thats on my heart right now.

I think it may have been just God letting me know I wasn't alone. The following day I received the call that my parent's land had sold and we had to clear out my dad's old shop. So it was a difficult day ahead and looking back I think God just wanted me to know He was here.

I think so too. A lot of pleasant visions don't end up with completely logical conclusions, but just a sense of comfort, that God knows what you're going through.

So true. I used to work with him, my husband and I with my dad in that shop...Just being at my old desk brought me to tears - its happening again just thinking about it...that was hard..

I have silly things that I kept when people died. When my aunt died, people asked if I wanted practical things, and all I wanted was a little lathe-turned wood piece that reminded me of her. With a dad and a shop that you worked in, I would imagine that you couldn't throw anything out except the oil rags!

yeah, pens and business cards with his name on them, my divider from my desk ( which by the way I never could convince my dad was worthy of using ) He was quite comfortable just throwing all the papers in one big pile for me to sort through

My siblings and I divided the parts that can be sold but the rest was just memory..My brother talked about having a piston trimmed in gold to set on his shelf...If I were to gold anything it would be a spark plug...Lots of memories with spark plugs and me not bring him the correct spark plug

I hope the buyers (my cousins) let us go back for flowers this Summer..My mom loved her flowers and even though their odds of survival are slim to none, I'd still like to try my hand at some of her flowers .

I once had a dream/s about a bright light outside my door and intense crackling. Also followed by dreams of flooding. There was an awful lot of floods and fires that broke out after the dream. More then usual or I became unusually aware of them I've no stats. Perhaps its a foretelling of things to come?

Where I live, balls of light are beleived to be spirits of the dead. I believe in their existence and know many people who've seen them. Whether they are or not is discerned on an individual basis. The calling of your name is a common enough occurrence, especially with ghosts. I've heard my name being called on a number of occassions. Ghosts seem to get a big kick out of it, expecially if you respond. Of course, it could also be a demon in disguise.

Sorry this probably didn't help, but at least you know other Christians have similar experiences.

I know that a lot of Christians immediately jump to deny the possibility, or attribute everything to evil, but there are a lot of documented sightings that haven't been resolved as to source and nature and entity.

You know the scriptures on what not to get involved in -- you will apply them wisely I'm sure.
