This morning at church, after Sunday School, my mom was going down the stairs for choir and her ankle gave out. She fell down all of the stairs and ended up breaking her wrist. She had landed it such a bad way that everyone was afraid she had broken her back, but thankfully it was only her wrist.
With as bad of a fall as it was, praise the Lord it wasn't more! She ended up going to the hospital in an ambulance because someone called 911, not knowing how bad she was hurt. I rode over with her. She broke her wrist in 3 spots. The break was going into her joint and growth plate so they ended up needing to take her to surgery and put a pin in her wrist. She's still in a lot of pain. She's bruised up pretty bad and has an abraision to her face...but all in all, she seems to be recooperating nicely.
Please just pray that everything heals over well. You see...my mom had breast cancer a couple years back, and they ended up needing to take some lymph nodes out of her left arm...where the cancer had spread. She is cancer free right now, but she is supposed to be really careful with that arm. Because of the lack of lymph nodes...that arm has the susceptibility to swell very badly and cause lymphadema. She is not supposed to carry more than fifteen pounds with that arm, and with her catching herself on her left arm...she had 150+ pounds of weight all being supported with that arm before it broke. So that arm may end up swelling really bad...permanently. It doesn't go back down...so please pray that everything ends up okay with her. Thanks for the prayers and God bless!
