Here is where I see us at the current time:

1. Agree to wiki guidelines --DONE
2. Agree to who can vote on rules--DONE
3. Agree to Intro statement--DONE
4. Agree on sub-forums--DONE
5. Craft rules for the main SDA section and any GLOBAL rules for all Adventist forums.
6. Craft rules for the main section and the sub-forums- in the case of traditional and progressive, should be done by each group in their own sub-forum rather than the wiki, then put to a vote in their sub-forum. In the case of the others can be done in the wiki.--Next

Guys, this is a complete waste of time. They have nothing but disdain for us, can't you see that? We are apostates to them. They don't want us in the church, they don't want us in the forum. What more has to be said? They will never tolerate any trace of Progressive Adventism on the forum, even a subforum. Already five Traditionals have expressed that they want nothing less than total separation. For once I agree with them.

Tall, is it that two separate forums isn't doable? I want to contribute to this process, but it seems pointless to have oil and water on the same forum.

However, if it is the consensus that we still keep working towards our original idea, I will go along. Hopefully the more hard-core haters will just leave and go join Richard O'Ffill's Revival Sermons forum so thier 'pure Adventism' isn't contaminated.

I just want to go on record as saying it is absolutely against my better judgment to attempt the same format again and that totally separate forums is my first choice.

I wouldn't say we are haters. It's more like we are just tired of all of the negativity, and want a forum that is uplifting.

Many of us are at a low point in our lives. All of this negative talk is not doing anything to bring happiness into our lives.

As for the separation, it is doable. Go vote. The poll is up.

we have just got a poll on the forums and it was good. And we want to talk about dividing the forum. This is a dead issue.

i think what we need to talk about is kicking some people out, like honor the sabbath. this person is just trying to start fights.

no she's not. she is trying to uphold the traditional beliefs and get frusterated when the progessives try to undermine it and twist words, etc.

i can see her frusteration and it is well placed.

I agree that our name has already been stained by this whole debackle (s/p?).

I only see seperation as a remedy to the problem!!

This is like the Salem witch hunts!

Lets not make Honor the scapegoat for ALL of our faults. They have been MANY people who have behaved badly here! Lets all take a minute and do some honest self evaluation here.

Lets just fix the problem and not focus on the symptoms.

The problem is a major difference in beliefs.
The symptom is anger and frusteration.

Lets seperate and presto...problem solved!

You made some interesting points here.

1) Because the problem is thet deep theological differences they will not only not go away easily they may never go away.

2) All we can do is deal with the symptoms.

3) Separating into separte forums won't solve the problem becuase there is no way that you can keep people out from one forum who believe like the other forum. It's fine when you have gross differences like Christians vs. atheists because they are so different that they can be separated. But, when you have two, (or more!) groups of people both claiming to be the "true" representatives of the church then there will be controversy and conflict. So, your point about frustrations and the results is quite on the money! Now how do we deal with it?

All you need are threads you consider to be uplifting. If you ignored those threads and posts you don't agree with all the fighting would cease.

Easier said than done, tho'. When you have posters who just can't resist making a dig at ya, that hurts deeper than even what the response may let on.
