  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I don't know whether or not there's a thread for this already, but I figured there needed to be a thread specifically for the Back to the Future movies.

First order of business is to find out how you guys (and gals) feel about the movies. I thought they were great and if I had a top 100 list (which I'm thinking about doing) the first Back to the Future would probably be in the top 10.

I love 'em. The third one wasn't the greatest thing in the world, but I figure it takes some specials skills to successfully go from sci-fi to western and back again.

I also think it's fun to think about all the mind twisting questions it presents about time travel.

All of 'em were good, I'm surprised at the amount of people who disliked the third one- I thought it was clever... good use of the past, and tieing it with the previous two movies. I'm just sad there won't ever be anymore! Dont wanna ruin a good 80's thing I guess! hehe

The trend I hear with the Back to the Future trilogy is similar to the trend with the Matrix trilogy. The first one seems to be the best and systematically gets worst each time another is made. The trend also seems to happen with the Blade movies and a lot of other films. I hope Spider-Man 3 and Batman Begins can break the trend. I have no doubt Spider-Man 3 will be just as great, maybe even better, then the first and second ones.

the second one has an AMAZING plot and storyline... it jumps everywhere and you really have to concentrate to understand. to me, that's what makes a good movie... a well thought out clever movie. the other 2 are good as well... i love the whole trilogy...

Hello :)

My kids and I love the whole trilogy!! I don't think I can rate them in order of preference as I think they're all really good. I think the second one, as someone else said, requires the most concentration.

We all think that the man who plays Biff is a great actor! and we love Doc - Christopher Lloyd would be one of my all-time favourite actors. Each movie has really great scenes and moments. One such, for me, is when Marty wakes up at the end of Part One and does a double-take when he sees the change in his family and his home! :D And we love the steam train at the end of Part 3. I'd love to go for a ride on that!!!

I love all three movies. The thought of time traveling has captured the imagination of man since time was measured.
Part II has lots of timeline errors that would have sent time in loops.
Part III has some timeloop problems as well.

I liked 1 and 3. Hated 2.
Wow...didn't like 2? I just love it for the way the plot intertwines with the plot of the first one. Very creative in my opinion.

Just a random point of trivia...the name of the mall at the beginning of the first movie is Twin Pine Mall. You'll notice when Marty goes back in time he runs over a pine tree. At the end of the movie the name of the mall is Lone Pine Mall.
