  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to say thanks for your prayers for me and my Soldiers. We returned this week and are enjoying some downtime. I am glad to be back with my family. Now I just need to adjust to being back in the US.

Please continue to pray for the Soldiers after they return. I know that they are going to want to party and relax but I am hoping that they we be safe about. There is a significant number of troops that come home and are killed within two weeks of returning because they were drinking and driving.

Pray that they stay safe and that they will be responsible. The next month or so has me worried.

I found these poems by a Christian marine via google that I thought was pretty interesting to share with you since you came back from Iraq...

A belated welcome back . . how is it going with you and your soldiers now that a few weeks have passed?

(Thanks for sharing the poetry link, Christiangal01 . . what a great way for him to record not only the things he went through, but how he felt at the time)

Some are drinking a little heavily; others (myself included) are having a slow adjustment back to the States.

A couple of my personal experiences have included waking up and thinking I am in Iraq and "imagining" the "incoming" alarm going off.

Normal reactions thus far. I am praying that we continue to stay safe as we comeback from war.

Hang in there Soldier....
it's all normal reactions, and in time they will diminish....

though I do suggest getting out to the country where it's deserted on 4th of July and New Year's Eve...It's been 15 years for me and I still am jumpy on those nights.

Hang tough.

ooo this thread interested me because my step-brother was suppose to be back AUgust 3rd, but when he was going through customs, the dummy had ammo in one of his bags so he was arrested for attempting to smuggle ammo. Well anyway he should be home sometime tonight/tomorrow. I would just like to say Welcome back!

I was sure by now,God, that You would have reached down
and wiped our tears away,
stepped in and saved the day.
But once again, I say amen
and it's still raining
as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain,
"I'm with you"
and as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
the God who gives and takes away.

I remember when I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to You
and raised me up again
my strength is almost gone how can I carry on
if I can't find You
and as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
and as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
the God who gives and takes away

And I'll praise you in this storm
and I will lift my hands
for You are who You are
no matter where I am
and every tear I've cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
and though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I lift my eyes unto the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth
I lift my eyes unto the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth
