Hi,
Does anyone remember me? I may have been lemonflavor before (and I'm male and married). It looks like all the names are new except Jesu.

I could use some help with handling obvious or bad advice that we all get. I know this has been talked about a lot before, but I guess I just haven't had much problem with it. I'm getting prayed for on Wed night in our Bible study group and because of a couple of people there, I know some is going to come my way. One person really want me to get "shock therapy" (I haven't told her yet it called ECT) but it's a 'no' for me right now. She hardly knows anything about it. And there's the usual 'get outside to get vitamin D' and all the other stuff that I've heard a million times and have known for over a decade.

Nice to meet you. The responses you're getting are ones I've received as well. From "this is Satan oppressing you, you just need prayer" to "stop taking your meds, you don't need them". The amount of ignorance out there is mind-boggling, but unfortunately its up to us to educate everyone else and point out the potential harm these responses can inflict. I posted my story in a post called "Where to go from here" that illustrates just how destructive willful ignorance can be.
