There are 2 new links in the navbar:

CF IRC & CFIM!

CF IRC is the CF IRC chat channel.

You can click on the link in the navbar which brings you to this:
http://www.christianforums.com/f38-christian-irc-com.html

- this is our java IRC client. Your browser needs to be able to read java applets.

Alternatively, you can use an external IRC client like mIRC with this info:

Server: irc.christianforums.com
Port: 7777

CFIM is the CF instant messaging system.

To use it, you need to click on the CFIM link which popups a window. Make sure your browser can read java applets as this is based on java.

Any other CF member who clicks on the CFIM link will also show up in the popup window. You can then chat 1-on-1 live with this other member via the CFIM window by CLICKING ON THEIR USERNAME - a NEW window will popup for the both of you to chat in real-time.

You SHOULD be able to set your blocker to ALLOW any pop-ups on CF, without allowing pop ups on other sites.


For some reason, I can use the IRC fine, but the CFIM freezes my computer up...

None of the buttons or graphics are showing up and it is as if the system has been real slow for a long time now. Usually they have it fixed by now or at least puts up a message somewhere to let people know what is going on.

While I haven't seen an announcement addressing this, it is clearly a known problem since it is effecting everyone. Don't worry, it'll be fixed soon I trust!
