  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

that was interesting. i had three sons. i don't remember how i ate. probably anything in sight! LOL!
however, i think gender is determined according to the man's DNA.

In the end, yes, but the woman can also help determine the sex of the baby. Sperm carrying the Y chromosome are not quite as hardy as those carrying the X chromosome. Because of this, the woman can affect the sex of the baby. If her vagina is very acidic, she's more likely to have a girl because the Y sperm can't handle the acidity as well as the X sperm can. Also, if she has sex a few days prior to ovulating (and doesn't have it in the following days), she'll probably be more likely to have a girl because the Y sperm die off faster, so more X sperm will be alive and waiting for the egg.

Also, studies have shown that women's bodies are more likely to naturally abort (miscarry) male fetuses than female fetuses during times of stress.

As for this study, I think there could be some truth to it. If a mother isn't eating well, her body is not the ideal place for a fetus to develop. Since male fetuses can't handle less-than-ideal conditions as well as female fetuses, I would imagine that a male fetus would be more likely to be miscarried than a female fetus would be if the mother has a poor diet. If a woman has a great diet, the male fetuses are more likely to "stick."

I'm a bio major, so I find this sort of thing to be pretty interesting:sorry: .
