  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does anyone else watch?

Yes, Babylon 5 is one of the very best of SF shows. I watched from the first showing of the pilot episode to the first showing of the last episode, and then reruns a few times over.

I love how philosophical B5 can be, and how momentous the arc is.

First, congratulations on getting married!

I have five seasons on DVD - I just got Season Four in the mail from Amazon, and I had the fifth for awhile. Now it's time for a Babylon 5 marathon :)

You're right - the arc is impressive. The season has come a long way from Season One and trying to find it's legs, and the epic situations in relation to the Shadow War. I was kind of dissapointed in how that ended.

I loved that show. What network is showing it. I think it's the best tv show ever made but I think I've seen all the episodes and some of them multiple times so the last time it was on tv I didn't watch it much.

I don't watch tv much partly because of that show. Everything else fictional on tv is so mind numbingly dumb in comparison that my expectations are now too great for other shows to ever keep my attention.

I know what you mean!

I've started watching Stargate: SG1 recently (I'm in season three), and while it isn't as philosophical a show as B5, it is managing so far to hold my interest.
