Baby Shower

We are having a baby shower for my sister in a few weeks and one of the things we are doing is having everyone write down some advice or words of wisdom for the baby. Than we will put them all in a box to be given to her on her 18th birthday. I wanted to come up with something really good... and I thought it might be fun for us all - maybe to take our minds off ttc just a little bit... to come up with some ideas... and if I really like some I hear, I might use them at the shower. We did this for my other niece 8 years ago and it was really fun to see what everyone came up with...

I think I wrote something cheesy about her never being too old for me to spoil her. This time, I would like to come up with something better... something about Faith maybe. I thought of using my favorite quote: "Walk with the Lord and you will always be going in the right direction." Any other ideas??

I wrote a card to my Goddaughter saying that I was praying for her always. I tried to think about the sorts of things which will come up for her in her walk with God 18 years down the line so that I could start praying for them now. For example, I often pray that she will choose to follow Jesus, and that she will listen to God's vocation for her. I wrote all that sort of stuff in the card.

I also said that I would always listen to, and never judge her for, anything she ever needed to talk to me about...

Congratulations on becoming an aunt again! I hope you find the right words for this new baby.

So I decided to cheat and wrote out my advice early - hey, I'm throwing the shower - I get to do whatever I want, right??

Here is what I wrote: Always follow your heart and don't let anyone else make your choices for you - only you know what you want and only you can achieve it. Always PRAY! The answer to everything is only a prayer away. Remember that if you walk with the Lord, you will always be going in the right direction.
